Phil's reviewsAs a host (5)
“We had a delightful couple of nights stay at Phil's beautifully designed eco-pod in inner city Brisbane. Light, spacious, comfortable, interesting and very conveniently located. We were able to walk to a restaurant in Fortitude Valley, the rivers edge bar area and city cat riverboat stop, to great brunch spots and the CBD itself. Bus connections also made the CBD and Southbank very very accessible. Brisbane is a great city to visit for a pleasant and warm stay with great food and relaxed environment. Phil's communication was quick and informative and flexible. A highly recommended LHS opportunity.”
“My husband and I have just spent 3 amazing nights at Phil's Eco Pod. We have 4 more nights to use in the future and can not wait! Phil has been a pleasure to communicate with as he was so efficient with responses and extremely helpful with information on Brisbane and the house. He is very hospitable and even drove us to the railway station for our homeward journey. The organic breakfast that was provided for us was delicious and lasted for the 3 mornings of our stay. Now the house. Wow!!! It is truly incredible. It is so appealing with the extensive use of frame-less glass, beautiful timbers and edgy high polished cement floor down stairs. While it is an extremely modern structure, comfort has not been compromised. The bed is very comfortable and offers glimpses of the moon and stars at night through the partially glassed roof. The bathroom is large, light filled and very clean. You can even see the sky above when having a shower. The lounge and kitchen area is very spacious and has a comfortable lounge suite to relax, read or watch television. Outside features a well kept lawn and a private sparkling pool. We look forward to using the pool on our next visit in the summer months. The main surprise factor of our stay was the location. It literally is a 10 minute walk to the CBD of Queen Street Mall. The same distance heading the other way is the fabulous Fortitude Valley and China Town of which the restaurants are endless. You will not need a hire car for Phils house. Thank you once again Phil for allowing us to stay and experience your wonderful home in Beautiful Brisbane. Andrea and Tim Adelaide/Bali ”
“INNER CITY VISITING AT ITS BEST The one bedroom apartment (eco pod) is so well designed giving privacy but light & spaciousness. I appreciate the finer things in life, and Phil’s apartment exceeded my expectations. Quality linen ☑️ Comfortable bed ☑️ Beautiful toiletries ☑️ Phil’s thoughtful touches, including breakfast supplies have made our city break very enjoyable. I would highly recommend this property & hope that we get the chance to host Phil & his family in the future. Best wishes Christine & Arthur Jackson ”
“We have just spent 10 days at Phils eco pod. Phil was a brilliant host. Responded to emails very promptly and made us feel very welcome. The pod is in a great location. Being just a five minute walk In different directions to China town, the city and the river. The pod is very open plan and light filled with a great little pool. There are no blinds on the bedroom windows and the bathroom is open to the bedroom. If you like your privacy and a lie in in the morning this may not be for you. However if you can be open minded and like to try staying somewhere a bit different do give this a go. Phil will make you feel very welcome. Thanks Phil for a great stay.”
Where is it?
The house is about as central as you can get in Brisbane. You can walk easily to the city centre (the main city shopping pedestrian mall and the business district), Fortitude Valley (entertainment central), the Brisbane River and Southbank Parklands. It is close to transport (buses at the top of the street and trains – central station is a 5 minute walk), shops, casual dining, parks, gymnasiums, bike and walking tracks. The suburb of Spring Hill is steeped in history as one of Brisbane’s oldest suburbs and the streets are full of quaint “Queenslander” style worker’s cottages. Isaac Street itself, although very central is remarkably quiet, with friendly neighbours, and you will often forget how close to the city and all the action you really are.
