About our home
This is an ideal holiday house for a couple or for a small family. It is carpeted throughout and the furnishings are attractive and in excellent condition. The kitchen is new with all mod cons. The large lounge-dining room is surrounded by windows and opens onto a large partly-covered verandah which overlooks the wide lawn and the lake. (A gardener comes in regularly to mow the lawn.) A barbecue with firewood provided is built on the lawn beside the house.
Beside the house there is a separate cabin which provides a fourth bedroom and second bathroom. There is a lock-up garage with remote-controlled rollerdoor. Under the house is stored a canoe and surf skis. We can make a car available - a 2005 Toyota Corolla sedan. Golf.

We are Neil and Jill, two retired empty-nesters whose three children are scattered. Our eldest son lives in London, St John's Wood, and he and his wife are about to have their first baby. So we would like to spend a month or so every year in London, starting April 2006, preferably in a flat or house close to St John's Wood.
Since we retired our interests include golf, gardening, travelling, various committees/charities, music and theatre, and our grandchildren.

Where is it?
Neighbourhood
This house is situated at Budgewoi, on the Central Coast of NSW, only one hour's easy drive from Sydney. It is also accessible by train and bus from Sydney. It is on the edge of a lake which can be used for boating or swimming, and it is only 3 minutes' drive from a beautiful surfing beach, with several other beaches only a little further away. Three bicycles are provided, and there is a good cycling track around the adjacent lake.
Nearby is a small shopping centre for all basic needs, and a larger centre at Toukley 10 minutes away. Nearby is a pretty golf course which welcomes visitors. One hour's drive away is the Hunter Valley famous for its vineyards, and the Watagan Mountains with beautiful bushwalks. The climate of this area is warm in Summer and mild the rest of the year. The sea is wonderful for swimming from December to May. If you are looking for somewhere warm, peaceful and beautiful but not too far from Sydney, this should suit you well.
