About our home

Our apartment is on one of the few private piers in Sydney with 24 hour concierge & security, indoor heated swimming pool with gym and sauna in exclusive Walsh Bay. The apartment is a generous 243sqm (2,600 sq foot) air conditioned with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms + a study and is open plan with large living + media area, open plan dining and well equipped kitchen. It has wrap around decks accessible from all rooms and uninterrupted harbour views. Furniture & fittings are high quality and the apartment has cable TV, high speed wifi and a spare car park in the basement. We have a 36ft Cris Craft Corsair moored at our pier which is available for use with our captain but there will be a daily cost to use this (as it costs us for him to take it out) but it's a beautiful way to spend time on Sydney Harbour.

Cafés and restaurants are plentiful and only 2 minutes walk away (at the end of the pier) with The Rocks, Opera House and Harbour Bridge also all a short stroll away. We live in a creative area with Sydney Theatre and Sydney Dance Theatre literally next door to us which makes the area interesting and buzzy but our Pier is private with security access so calm and relaxed. Transport is simple as Circular quay (transport hub for ferries, buses, trains) is a walk away and taxis always easy in this location. We often take the bikes & ride around the waterfront & stop for lunch along the way. There is a local supermarket and wine store across the road.

Close by are tennis courts and the local community centre with court hire for badminton, basketball etc. To the left of Walsh Bay is Kings Wharf which is a 10 min walk and has the aquarium, Syd Wildlife Park and loads of restaurants. Star City Casino is just around the corner with its luxury shopping, as is all the CBD shops including Pitt St Mall, David Jones & the new Westfield). Lunar Park and the Zoo are a short water taxi away (or ferry).

We are a 50 something New Zealand/Australian couple who work in a creative industry. We have a 10 year old who lives with us and 3 adult children. We are pretty relaxed (as are most antipodeans!) and enjoy travel, design, laughter & family. We will definitely look after your house as well as we look after our own - have a problem leaving the house without everything being left immaculate which makes for a few late arrivals sometimes.... Luckily the husband understands and is in the words of the 10 year old is 'chillaxed'.

We need to be in to New York for 10th July which is the primary reason for listing our home but we also enjoy skiing in Europe & North America. We normally summer in Europe in June and/or Sept but travel extensively so open to options.

The dates we are able to swap for 2014 are:

Sorry no pets, smokers or children and the apartment is not available for functions of any type. It's perfect for a couple of people wanting to explore Sydney - we love living here & would love to help with local knowledge to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
