More about us

  1. We are a family with 3 primary-aged children. We live Ballarat and this is our beach home. We immigrated to Australia from England 10 yrs ago, but are actually American & Canadian.

  2. Mark is a Chiropractor and Rachel is a teacher. The children attend a Steiner School.

  3. We love nature and love getting away to the beachhouse for rest & relaxation. The beaches are awesome, and there are plenty of trails for running and hiking. The house is newly renovated, and is contemporary, simple and clean.

Where is it?

Torquay is a seaside town at the east end of the Great Ocean Road coastal drive, southwest of Melbourne, Australia. It’s known for surf beaches like Bells Beach and Jan Juc Beach. The Surf Coast Walk trail starts at Point Impossible Beach and heads southwest via Point Danger Marine Sanctuary, with its limestone reef and sea slugs. In town, the Australian National Surfing Museum displays surf memorabilia.

The warmer months of Dec–Apr are peak times for Torquay's surf and swimming beaches, outdoor cafes and restaurants. Summer events include the Australian Strongman Triathlon (Feb). The Rip Curl Pro (Mar/Apr) is a huge international surfing competition and music festival. In winter (Jun–Aug), humpback and southern right whales can be seen from the Great Ocean Road.

Our house is in a quiet neighbourhood, just a 10-min walk to Jan Juc beach.
