About our home

Like so many others, our trip to Europe in 2020, involving 4 home exchanges, was cancelled. So this year we would be very interested in exchanges within Australia. However in 2022 we are hoping to exchange in England, preferably in the South East where friends and family live. We already have exchanges in place for Spain and Sardinia which have been deferred until 2022. Non-simultaneous exchanges are no problem for us as we have a second home in Brisbane.

We live in a new waterfront home with swimming pool; close to white sand beaches, a world-class golf course, local shopping, restaurants and two international resort-style hotels. The house is very light with an open-plan design incorporating a granite/stainless steel kitchen, living area, indoor and outdoor dining areas plus a terrace overlooking the pool and lagoon. There are 3 bedrooms plus a separate fully equipped office, 2 bathrooms with spa bath, a double garage and air-conditioning. This is our main home, used for home exchanging, but never rented. We have a little tabby cat, Bailey, who would like to stay at home if possible.

More about us

  1. Sadly, our trip to Europe in 2020 (together with 4 lovely home exchanges) was been cancelled. So this year we're looking for exchanges in Australia, especially Northern Queensland, which allows us to travel with no borders involved. There is now an airline service from Maroochydore (10 minutes from our home) to Cairns. Our last trip to Adelaide was a long, long time ago,so we would like a trip there. Sometime in the future, we would also love to return Europe and Asia and would be interested in chatting with other members with a view to organising swaps when the Covid crisis is controlled.

We are Bee and Derek, a "mature" couple, well travelled and originally from England. I work part-time in PR and Derek is a Sales Manager for an international engineering company. Having swapped homes over 100 times, we now consider ourselves quite experienced! The concept has brought us many new friends and provided opportunities to explore some wonderful places; often far away from the usual tourist haunts. And, of course, after so many exchanges, we understand the importance of caring for our exchangers' homes. Our home is an adults only environment.

  2. We are open to all home exchange offers... we love surprises!

  3. Non-simultaneous exchanges are no problem for us as we have another home in Brisbane..... so you can come here whenever you wish. We have one independent easy-care cat (who would only be in residence for simultaneous exchanges) and would be happy to look after yours.

Our car, an airconditioned automatic Nissan Juke, may be available for exchange

Unfortunately our home is not suitable for children.

Where is it?

Twin Waters is on the Sunshine Coast, only 10 minutes drive to Mooloolaba and Maroochydore, 25 minutes to Noosa and 1 hour to Brisbane. Just a few minutes walk from our home is the Twin Waters Golf Course where kangaroos can be seen grazing at the end of the day. We are close to Mudjimba beach, a stunning strip of white sand, stretching 8 kilometres from the Maroochy River to at Coolum. The area is a walkers paradise with dedicated paths for pedestrians and bikes.

The Sunshine Coast has some excellent restaurants (try "The Boat Shed" on the river at Maroochydore and "High Tide" beside Mudjimba beach), great shopping - including the markets of Eumundi and the craft stores of the mountain villages - fishing, surfing, diving, kayaking, sailing and other sporting facilities. A 30 minute drive will take you to the Blackall Range for some dramatic terrain and spectacular views of mountains, valleys, rainforests and the Pacific Ocean. Whilst 3 hours to the north is Fraser Island with its acclaimed golden beaches ... and Hervey Bay for whale watching.

We are close to Sunshine Coast Airport which has regular low-cost services with Virgin and Jetstar direct to Sydney, Cairns and Melbourne as well as a seasonal Air New Zealand service to Auckland. Brisbane International Airport is an hour away with a shuttle bus service to our home.
