About our home

We have lived in our home for 39 years & love the area. Our house is a single story dwelling on a 1/4 acre block. We have a very large land scaped garden front & rear, that is easy maintenance. We have made our house very comfortable with large TV & surround sound system. A library of a hundred DVD film titles. Lots of local bird life some of which come in for a regular feed. We have a private rear garden, surounded by large tree's giving a very relaxing atmosphere. We have ducted evaporative air conditioning throughout, as well as reverse cycle heat / cool to most rooms.

We live in the South Western suburbs of Adelaide. Five minutes drive to Brighton Beach, Ten minutes to popular Glenelg. Within an hours drive to the Southern Vales is the McLaren Vale wine region, Victor Harbour, Second Valley, Cape Jervis & the ferry to Kangaroo Island. We have two mountain bikes with extensive bike tracks starting nearby.
We are 5 minutes walk to the rail system, 10 minutes walk to Westfield Marion shopping town, one of the largest in Australia. The State Aquatic centre, recently constructed at a cost of $80 million, has seven pool's to cater for all tastes, it is only five minutes walk. The Warradale Hotel a short walk away provides excelent dining & entertainmeant.

A half hour drive Northward along the coast will bring you to Port Adelaide with its fascinating sites, museums, old pub's, boat trips & historical walks. To the East are the picturesque Adelaide hills & to the North the popular Barossa Valley wine region. Adelaide has a very pleasant Mediterranean climate.

We are a recently retired couple from our own business. We want to travel from time to time & our friends in the UK who have done over a dozen swaps, have recommended us to the idea. Our biggest leisure activity these days is lawn bowls, also cycling, swimming, country drives, travel, Indonesia & cooking.

We have just returned from a 2 week house swap to Auckland New zealand & returned on a 12 day cruise on the Celebrity Solstice. We would like to house swap for a flexible period in 2013/14/15. Also interested in Bali, Indonesia, Hawaii (Especially Maui) as well as Victoria, Canberra & New South Wales.
