About our home

A 92 sqm apartment in Europe’s center. It has 2 spacious balconies and offers free parking in front of the house. It provides a quiet surrounding due to the location in a small village called “Außervillgraten” in the middle of the Alps/Dolomites. Though it has everything you need like a small supermarket within walking distance or just a 5 minutes drive if you need a pharmacy or more shopping opportunities. Also, if you love nature - skiing, cycling or trekking etc. you will have a lot of opportunities nearby in the beautiful nature of the Dolomite mountains. Further it is advisable to rent a car (free parking lot right in front of the house!!), because the public bus runs infrequently. Due to open borders between Italy and Austria (only 15 min drive) it is very easy to travel to various locations in both directions (bring your ID/passport).
Next bus stop: 50 m
Next cities: Lienz - 30 km
San Candido (IT) - 17 km

It is possible to visit main Europe cities and popular Sightseeing locations within a few hours drive only:
Venice (IT) - 3 hours
Trieste (IT) - 3,5 hours
Salzburg - 3 hours
Munich - 3.5 hours
Vienna - 5.5 hours
Rijeka (HR) - 4,5 hours
Bolzano (IT) - 2 hours
Lake Braies (IT) - 45 minutes
Tre Cime di Lavaredo (3 peaks) - 45 minutes

More about us

  1. We are a couple 30+ looking for new travel experiences around the world

  2. We are both working in the local Gastronomy. Mario is an owner of a restaurant/bar and Ellis works as a waitress in a local restaurant.

  3. We have two lovely cats at home. We would love to swap with someone who takes care of them as much as we do (feeding and eventually cleaning) But if absolutely necessary we will do our best to find them a holiday home during your stay.

Where is it?

Ausservillgraten is a small village in middle of the dolomite mountains (Alps). The place is very quiet but still not far away from major cities or the next city center. You will find a pharmacy, Supermarkets and some Shops within a 5 minutes drive by car. The famous 3 Cime di Lavaredo (3 peaks) are just a 45 minutes drive away. The areas of East Tyrol (AT) and South Tyrol (IT) (open borders) are perfect for hiking, cycling or walking around beautiful lakes. In winter 5 different ski resorts are within reach. The closest (Thurntaler) is reachable by car or bus in 10 minutes.
It is very advisable to rent a car.

Buzzy restaurants
The area is surrounded by local high quality restaurants for fair prices. Great Italian pizza restaurants are just 10 minutes drive away. Local cuisine is within walking distance or a 5 minutes drive away.
Cool bars
There are some smaller bars around, but you will find the cooler ones in the nearby cities (Lienz. Brunico, San Candido)
Cozy cafés
Nearby cities provide a wide range of nice cafés and bars.
