About our home

ABOUT THE FLAT
The flat is in the very top of a beautiful historic house that was build in the 14th century. It has a stunning view to the Lake Constance (Bodensee), the town of Bregenz and the Swiss Alps.
The flat is about 35 sqm with a bedroom, a kitchen/dining room and a bathroom.
There is a big comfy double bed, which makes it ideal for an individual or a couple, but since there is also a mattress and an airbed it could sleep a small family with one or two kids.
The kitchen is well equipped with an electric stove and oven, fridge, toaster, kettle, milk frother, coffee percolator, coffee grinder.
There is a shower and a toilet in the bathroom, the washing machine is in the basement.
The garden is the perfect place to chill when the whether is nice, it is shared with the others living in the house, but you are welcome to use it.
Please note that it's a smoking flat, and there is no wifi.

THINGS TO DO
Nature in all its beauty is all around in Bregenz. The lake, the mountains, the forests surround this beautiful town. The area is amazing for hiking, there are plenty of great routes in the mountains very close to Bregenz.
The Lake Constance is great for swimming, a ferry ride or a barbecue in the evening.
Other historic towns and cities are really close such as St Gallen, Lindau, Feldkirch, Konstanz, Friedrichshafen.
Bregenz is famous for its Opera, the stage of which is literally on the water of the lake. But there are also plenty of concerts, exhibitions, theatre and other cultural activities.

GETTING AROUND
Everything you need is in walking distance. The closest supermarket is 7 mins walk, the closest bus stop is 9 mins walk, the train station is 13 mins walk.
The historic area of Bregenz (the “Oberstadt”) is literally just around the corner. The lake is 10 mins walk, and the forest is 2 mins walk.
A car is absolutely not necessary to get around (I don’t have one myself), public transport will get you to other towns or the mountains easily and quickly.
But in case you have a car there is a free parking spot in front of the house. You could also rent a car either by car-sharing or regular rental.

GETTING HERE
The closest airports are: Friedrichshafen (Germany), Memmingen (Germany), Zürich (Switzerland), Innsbruck (Austria), Munich (Germany). There is a good connection from all of them via train or Flixbus (even by ferry from Friedrichshafen.
There are also good connections via train and Flixbus.
