“Bartolo is a very good host, taking care of you in every kind of need. His instructions are very precise. He is very kind. His apartment is in the centre of town and it is ideal to visit Salisburg by walking. A supermarket is at 20 metres far from the building, and you can find typical restaurants and shops all around home. The apartment is ideal for 2/3 people and confortable, silent thanks to double windows. The apartment is furnished of what you need as described in the announcement. I recommend it to all people loving historical centres”

About our home
Beautiful 2-room-flat in in Vienna.
In a historic building, calm, looking onto the garden, 7 m2 balcony.
It is in the 15th district, in walking distance to the famous Schönbrunn castle , close to public transport (subway and 2 tram lines 4-5 minutes walk, bus 1 minute walk) that will get you into the center and the coolest areas (such as Mariahilfer Straße or the Museaumsquartier) within minutes.
Bedroom with kingsize bed (spring mattress, optionally with soft topper), living-room with queensize sofabed (futon) and exit to a large balcony. Entrance hall, bathroom, separate toilet, kitchen.
The kitchen is fully equipped; there is a fridge with freezer, stove, oven, coffee maker, dishwasher, washing machine.
The house was built around 1900, and bears the typical stylistic features of that epoch which I like a lot, such as the high ceilings.
The apartment has just been completely remodeled, with new wooden floors (long floorboards), designer tiles in the kitchen, entrance hall, and bathroom, new kitchen, new bathroom, newly built balcony with larch floorboards, custom made doors and windows.
It is in the first floor (attention: you enter the building from basement level, so it's 2 floors up), and disposes of an elevator.
The kitchen opens to the inner courtyard, whereas living room, bedroom, and balcony look onto the inner gardens of the block. The apartment is bright, even on a clowdy day.
With a ramp down to the entrance of the building and an elevator the apartment is generally barrier-free. But please mind there is a (not very high) threshold in front of the apartment door, and that - owing the historic structure - not all doors are 80cm wide.
Please note that I only just moved in, so the apartment isn't completely finished yet; there are some unpacked boxes still. But it is perfectly habitable, and should be finished by February.

As a host (3)“Bartolo is a very good host and his apartment in the historical centre in Salisburg is really delicious. Very quite and confortable, ideal for 2 people, adaptable for 3. Hello!
I am a musician and University professor, travelling a lot - for professional reasons, as well as in private.
Home exchange has proven a wonderful way to get to know places in a more personal way. (Also, I find it an important gesture to be welcoming and trusting in a world where people tend to protect and close themselves...)
I have done at least 15 exchanges so far which have all worked out marvellously, some leading to lasting friendships.
Greetings from Salzburg!

Neighbourhood
Vienna, 15th district:
Nice, diversified residential neighbourhood. Originally an elegant district with mostly fin-de-siècle houses (built around 1900, like the house where I live), it then became a multicultural neighbourhood - in my street alone, there is a Chinese restaurant, a turkish bakery (Baklava, mmmmh....), a Serbian grill, a Pizzeria, and a big market with foods from all over the world.
It is in the middle of a 'gentrification' process, so there are more and more up-market 'hipstery' places.
Close to Schönbrunn castle (10 minutes walk), to Westbahnhof (2 stops by subway), the lovely 7th district (3-4 stops on the subway or tram), the Museumsquartier (5 stops on the subway or tram), the touristy centre of the city (6-7 stops on thee subway, direct connection), and many more.
Closest subway and tram stop: Johnstraße.
If you arrive by train: Westbahnhof is the closest station (direkt subway ride, 2 stops). If your train is headed for the main station (Hauptbahnhof), get off at Wien Meidling, then take the U6 to Westbahnhof, and change for the U3 to Johnstraße. (Or: Continue to Hauptbahnhof, then take the U1 to Stephansplatz, then the U3 to Johnstraße.)
If you arrive by plane: Take the train headed to Hauptbahnhof (not the CAT, that is expensive!), and coninue as explained above.
