Our apartment is on the first floor (stairs) of a family-owned building built in 1910. It is very spacious and private. The apartment does not contain a lot of personal items due to being a second home (see our website) but has everything for a comfortable stay, and has been recently refurbished. There is a small garden at the back. Shops of all kinds are within walking distance. Unobtrusive but welcoming extended family are available if you need help during your stay.
We are an Austrian/Australian family of 4. Gerald is an IT professional, Marita is a Health Educator and Academic Researcher and we have a son who is nearly 4, and daughter who is 18 months. We usually live in Sydney, Australia, but in 2010 we will be in Austria for most of the year to visit family. We have lived in Asia and Europe and have wonderful memories of visiting many countries and making friends from around the world before we had the children. We are hoping to swap our Austrian apartment for short trips around Europe during the year. We are flexible, and would consider a non-simultaneous swap (you would have the apartment to yourself). We are very clean and tidy, and would treat your home with the same respect that we treat our own. **SYDNEY HOMEOWNERS: we are returning to Australia in October 2010 and are looking for accommodation initially when we return. We can offer our Austrian apartment as a swap, with flexible times from October. Preferred area is inner-west. We are both animal lovers and would be happy to look after yours; we also have excellent references.
It is a gentle 15 minute walk along the river to the beautiful old town of Salzburg. There are numerous fascinating attractions. The mountains are very close and offer summer and winter activities. Restaurants, shops and all amenities are all within walking distance. The airport and railway are close by, and Salzburg is well-located for an easy trip to many areas within southern Germany and other countries of central Europe.
