Our home is a 3 bedroom apartment with a large living/dining room, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with shower and bathtub and separate WC. There are 3 bedrooms in total: a double bedroom, kids' room with bunkbed (bottom bunk is mattress on floor but great for kids) and a third bedroom which doubles up as an office/guest room, with a sofa bed which converts into a comfortable double bed.
The flat itself is stylishly decorated with art from real live local artists!
It offers all modern amenities, including WLAN wireless internet, washing machine, TV, DVD and dishwasher.
I am a freelance English teacher from Britain, and have been living in Austria for 5 years now. I love it and love the area where I live! I live alone with my 5 year old daughter Maya. We both love travelling and experiencing other cultures.
I look forward to welcoming you to my home!
Our home is a spacious and comfortable 3-bedroomed apartment, located in a leafy suburb of Salzburg. Public transport is only a stone's throw away, meaning the historical city can be reached within about 10-20 minutes.
The flat is on the fourth floor, with stunning views of Gaisberg mountain. It is a quiet and safe neighbourhood, with a communal garden out back offering a swing and slide for kids, and a small "Spar" supermarket located right next door! This sells most of the basic things you would need, however in Aigen highstreet and in Parsch, about 10 minutes walk away, you will find several banks, chemist, hairdresser, baker, post office, DM (drugstore/chemist) and a couple of restaurants and cafes.
Also not more than 5 minutes walk is Preuschen park, with a great play area for kids, young and old, with climbing frames, table tennis and a mini climbing wall. Aigen park with the forest idyllic walking paths, church and old village centre is about 10-15 minutes walk away.
You can reach the city centre by bike (a lovely ride along the river) in 15 minutes, and in addition 2 bus routes (6 and 7) run into town. Both stops are located 5-10 minutes walk away, and take 15-20 minutes to reach the centre. By car, you can be in the old city in 10 minutes, and a local S-Bahn train runs straight to the main station in under 10 minutes. The S-Bahn station is even closer than the bus-stops, located a 5 minutes walk away.
In the city of Salzburg, you can visit all the highlights of the city, such as the fortress located on the hilltop, Mirabell garden, old city, Mozart's birthplace and even do the Sound of Music tour. In the month of August, you can experience the prestigious Salzburg festival. You could also explore the larger area which offers a wealth of lakes, rivers, mountains and quaint picturesque villages in the Salzkammergut area. Salzburg is also a great base to explore Bavaria and the Chiemsee area. There are really countless day trip possibilities.
