About our home

The house was built around the 1900s and is a typical Viennese Apartment Building with high ceilings and old decor. The apartment is on the second floor (there is no lift), it features two small balconies and it is very bright and sunny. The three bedrooms are facing the quiet inner courtyard. Our furniture is a mix of old family- and contemporary pieces.

More about us

  1. We are an architect and an engineer and both work in research and have been living in Vienna as well as abroad in the US and the UK. We very much enjoy travelling and like to combine city + culture as well as nature + sports during our trips. We would either travel alone (for shorter city-weekend trips) or together with our kids. In the last years we have already done four home exchanges and very much enjoyed the experience.

Where is it?

The building is located in a green and safe residential area in the North-West of the city. It is in a perfect location to reach both the outskirts of Vienna with its hiking and mountain biking opportunities as well as the city centre which can be reached by public transport in about 15min. There is a beautiful park (Tuerkenschanzpark) just 5min away from the flat and several local shops (bakery which is also open Sundays, butcher, minimarket, etc.) are in the vicinity. The public transport connection is very good, several street trams, a bus and an overland line are just a few minutes walk away. Vienna is perfectly located to reach other cities in central Europe: Salzburg (3 hours by car), Praha (5 hours); Budapest (3 hours); Venice (7 hours). Skiing areas and bigger hiking destinations as well as the Neusiedlersee (for sailing, wind surfing and swimming) are just one hour drive away.
