About our home

We live in a lovely community called Sugar Hill close to the white sand beaches and the deep blue Caribbean Sea. The area is green and tropical and we watch the most fantastic sunsets on our terrace. Our house could be described as upside down, the living area being upstairs to take advantage of our fantastic views. We have a small pool and jacuzzi in our tropical garden. We also have a guest cottage with double bed, bathroom & kitchinette. We have a maid who comes in three days a week to keep everything clean and tidy. We also have two small and friendly cats.

More about us

  1. We are a professional couple in our early 40s with two young children - 5 and 6. Chris works in the construction industry and I work in PR. My husband has worked in the Caribbean for a long time and I used to work in London. Having recently had a short stint back in the UK we decided that Barbados was the place we wanted to bring up our children. However, we'd love to try a cold and snowy Christmas and New Year this year in exchange for a hot and sunny one!

Where is it?

We are a 30 second walk to the clubhouse where there is a very good restaurant, beautiful pools and a gym. There are four tennis courts at Sugar Hill and and you can book lessons with the in house pro. We have a children's play area and during the holiday season there can be swimming, tennis and arts & crafts activities organised for the children. The community is safe and friendly. The West Coast's beautiful white beaches and good snorkelling and water sports are about 3 minutes drive away. Our nearest town in Holetown, about 5 mintues drive away, which has all amenities and some good restaurants. The west coast of Barbados, where we live, is an interesting mix of luxury houses and local chattel houses. There are some colourful rum shops (bars) and good local fare on offer too.
