About our home

Welcome to our homely apartment. Located on the first floor, serviced with a lift, modern and recently renovated. Easily accessible and great location whether travelling by train or car around Europe. The apartment is a great base to reach old Antwerp or to get away for day trips within Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands. Direct train to Berchem station from Zaventem (Brussels) International airport or 25min drive. It is ideal for a 4 people however can sleep a max of 6 people should you be travelling with kids and need more beds, we can still help you out.

A 2 bedroom apartment, with a terrace accessible from the main bedroom. A big walk in shower with a separate toilet (avoiding any waiting time should anyone else be using the shower ;) ). We have a big combined living/dining and kitchen area, washroom (equipped with 2 washing machines and a dryer). We have a treadmill (feel free to use it for your morning run), and 2 city bikes. Should more bikes be required a Velo station is within walking distance and costs €4/day. Fully equipped modern kitchen with gas stove, electric oven, dishwasher and professional kitchenware.

Based on a quiet residential street but within walking distance of different restaurants (fabulous Italian pizza round the corner, and traditional Belgian fries right on the corner of our street) and cafes, shops and the Berchem train station and public transport hubs (tram and bus lines). Easy on-street parking available.

Please keep in mind that it is a residential area and parties/loud music and smoking are not permitted within the apartment. Respect our neighbours - they're too nice to annoy ;)

Any requests, extra info or questions, just let us know.

Where is it?

Quiet family street with the advantage of being just a few minutes walk from the centre of old-Berchem, parks, shops and public transport. 5minute walk to an Olympic sized public pool, big sized supermarket and smaller green grocers, butcher and bakeries. Walking distance to De Koninck Antwerp City Brewery, which is not only a very cool tour but also houses it's own fromagerie and butcher.
The Zurenborg area hosts a high concentration of Art Nouveau and other fin-de-siècle style townhouses, many built between 1894 and 1906. The main streets of interest are Cogels-Osylei, Transvaalstraat, and Waterloostraat. The Driekoningenstraat - Statiestraat is the main shopping and commercial area of Berchem. It has an interesting mix of Belgian, local, and international convenience and non-food stores. The high-street has recently been refurbished, giving more space to pedestrians

Buzzy restaurants
Walking distance to Michelin star restaurants (make sure to book ahead if you'd like to eat at The Jane). Frituur on the corner of the street as well, as Michelin featured Liang's Garden. 4mins away from De Troubadour. Very good Italian round the corner (Carpaccio) and possible to have pizza delivered from Bellini should you wish to stay indoors. Various other restaurants around the area including De Pelgrim, Minerva and a few others. More options should you wish to head to the centre.
Cool bars
De Koninck Brewery bar, De Pelgrim...........and many more around the Grote Markt, the central station, and Antwerp Theater District
Cozy cafés
Kofika, Café Kamiel, HOST concept has an cafe serving English cakes and teas.
Retail therapy
Outdoor shopping? look no further than the Meir. Fancy walking around more than 200 shops head to Wijnegem Shopping Center. Need some last minute or less high street optoins - just head down to the main street of old Berhcem.
Bit of culture
Visit the centre of Antwerp easily, 10min bike ride, 10 min drive. Walk or take public transport. Visit the De Koninck - Antwerp City Brewery, walk along the art nouveau houses in the Zurenborg neighbourhood, or go to Middelheim park for an open-air art museum. Visit Rubens' house in the centre, visit Antwerp's centraal station (voted the most romantic train station and the most beautiful train station in the work by Architectural Digest). Walk around one of the old forts built to protect Antwerp, Fort 5 being the best one to visit. A brilliant mix of nature and history. So much to do so little time!
Walks in the park
The closest are Domein Hertoghe and Harmonie Park is not only a lovely park but also the best spot for multiple poublic transport lines. Bit further away: Stadspark, Middelheim, Rivierenhof. And many more
