“We loved our stay at Sarah & Jan's! The spacious and stylist retro appartement had plenty of space, fitting 5 persons to stay. We brought our double airbed which we placed in the living room. The communication with Sarah was very smooth and we exchanged our house keys at the Flixbus stop at The Hague Central Station. Would definitely recommend! ”

About our home
Our second-floor apartment is conveniently situated about a five-minute walk from Antwerp Central train station. From our home smack dab in the centre, you’ll reach every corner of Antwerp in under 20 minutes by foot. The living room makes up most of the 85 square meters of home. Here you’ll find the sofa near the window, which catches the sun from two in the afternoon, and the dinner table opposite the large bookshelves. The living room leads to the well-equipped kitchen, with a gas stove and oven. There are two bedrooms: the smaller one, which we use as our main bedroom, has a full double bed; the larger one, which we use as a study and crafts room, has a sofa bed that sleeps two (120 x 200cm) if you're not too big otherwise it's going to be very cosy. The smaller bedroom has a balcony which has sunlight from early morning until after lunchtime.
NB: If necessary, we also have a single air mattress available.
As our home is close to Antwerp Central train station, it is the perfect springboard into the city and the rest of Belgium and the Netherlands. Listed here are some popular destinations easily accessed through the Belgian and international rail systems, and the time it takes to get there.
NB: Antwerp Central station is not only a train station, but also a Flixbus stop. The destinations (and many more) listed below can also be reached by bus, at a much cheaper price!
Brussels - 40min
Ghent - 55min
Brugge - 1h30
Rotterdam - 1h
Amsterdam - 1h50
Paris - 2h IZY train
NB: There are two options when going to Paris. There is the regular high-speed Thalys, which goes from Amsterdam through Antwerp to Paris; there is also IZY (a subsidiary of Thalys) which leaves from Brussels south station and goes directly to Paris. IZY is considerably cheaper (starting at €10).

Sarah's reviews
As a host (1)More about us
-
We are Sarah and Jan, a young couple originally from The Netherlands, now living in Antwerp. Sarah is completing a Master's in Heritage Studies at the University of Antwerp, and loves cooking, sewing, and bingewatching a good tv-show. Jan is a bookseller working in Brussels and loves, books, obviously.
-
Our free time and vacations are spent hiking, going on citytrips, exploring the local cuisine. We like to wander around small-town Belgium and surprisingly wonderful nature surrounding it.
-
Sarah enjoys finding weird and interesting architecture, Jan meanwhile only has eyes for the next bookstore in sight.

Where is it?
Neighbourhood
Antwerp is a surprisingly small city. As our home is located exactly in the center, nowhere is more than a 20-minute walk away. Antwerp has a very rich and old history, but at the same time it is the most modern and contemporary city in Belgium. While Antwerp is known for its fashion and its diamonds, it has a lot more to offer in terms of culture and entertainment.
From our home, the zoo is not even 5 minutes away. There are concert halls, theaters, and museums in all directions. Following the main road west you’ll end up at the Old Market Square and City hall in 15 minutes. Chinatown is just opposite Central Station. Here you’ll find lots of restaurants and Asian supermarkets. The main shopping street, De Meir, goes from Central Station through Antwerp all the way to the old city center. “Het Eilandje” is the old harbor of Antwerp, which is now a modern neighborhood filled with bars and shops. Antwerp South has become the mainstay for everything hip and fashionable.
The closest supermarket (Lidl) is just five minutes away, other supermarkets not more than 10 minutes away are Albert Heijn and Delhaize.
