About our home

On the first floor in a typically Brussels house (big rooms and high ceilings), with a balcony, a large bathroom (shower and bath), a bedroom, a kitchen and a big living room. The sofa can turn into a bed for two extra people. Lots of light, bedroom at the back.
Internet access, lots of English books, information about Brussels (architecture and history), TV (a small one) and DVD player. Very wide of choice of CDs at your disposal. Two stereo players (one in the living room and one in the bedroom). The kitchen is quite big: table for up to 6 people, fridge, freezer, microwave oven, gas oven, plenty of dishes.
Ideal for a couple, possibly with one child.
Non-smokers only. No pets allowed.

The apartment is conveniently located in Ixelles, one of the most international and liveliest neighbourhoods of Brussels.
The European quarter is a only 15 minutes walk.
The street is pretty, lined up with trees and very quiet. The neighbours are mostly young professionals, families with young children and students. Quite a mixed area, big Portuguese community.
Bus stops and tram access very close. It takes about 20 minutes to get to the city centre and the central station.
Nearby, lots of bars and places to eat out. Lost of green areas around (parks and forests). Perfect place to find the best chips in Brussels !
Very close to the University of Brussels (ULB/VUB).
Perfect start for an Art nouveau trail.
Brussels is well-located to visit other European cities such as Bruges (one hour with national railways) and Antwerp (50 mins), Amsterdam (2.30 hours), Paris (1 hour 20 with Thalys) and London (2h30 with Eurostar).

We are a young couple (both 30). I work for an independent music label and my boyfriend works in the social area.
I am French-speaking and speak English and Dutch fluently. My boyfriend is Dutch-speaking and speaks fluent French. He has a good knowledge of Spanish. We are relaxed and enjoy eating out, going to concerts and to the cinema.
We are quite open to any suggestion for future exchanges. We both enjoy discovering new places and do not have a particular preference for any kind of environment. Cities, seaside, countryside, mountains... We are not really fussy, so if you think we could be the perfect match, please drop us a line!
