About our home

Our house is warm, colourfull and has an eclectic charm. We are a social, loving & very creative family, which reflects in the interior.
Our place is located within the charming, peaceful 'St-Elisabeth Begijnhof' district, which is a hidden pearl in Ghent and definitely worth discovering. The historic part of the city is only a 5 minute walk away. The famous churches, the 'Gravensteen' castle, art galleries, musea, the big shopping street, cosy bars, as well as the famous 'Graslei', are all located on walking distance from our place. There are plenty of grocery shops and nice bakeries in the neighbourhood. For those who don't feel like making breakfast, we can suggest delicious breakfast places just around the corner.

More about us

  1. We are a young, dynamic, creative family with two sons of 10 and 2 years old.

  2. Matt is from South Africa and works for a big music organisation. Leen is from Belgium and is a glass artist, specialized in glass jewelry, combined with precious materials.

  3. In our free time we practice & teach capoeira, a Brazilian dance, martial arts and travel backwards and forwards between Belgium and South Africa. We love meeting new people and sharing new adventures with our family.

Day tripping
Bruges, Brussels and Antwerp are only an hour away. Also Amsterdam can be visited for the day from where we live. If you prefer to go to nature, we can recommend 'the Ardennen', which is about 1,5 hour drive.
