“Nik’s appartament was everything we expected and more. Perfect location (near the center but without noise) and very well equipped. The kitchen was amazing and I have to be honest I don’t remember the last time I slept so well! Nik was really nice, he helped us a lot before our trip with every information we needed and he picked us up at the train station to take us home. I really only have good things to say about Nik and his place! You should try it!”
Where is it?
On the north side of the city, just a few minutes from the main marketplace and cathedral - which you can climb for an amazing view if you can handle 700 steps.
As Mechelen is not a big city, everything of interest is within walking (cobblestones all around, so avoid high heels ;-) or biking distance.
As a big fan of Mechelen we can recommend the city to everyone, young and old and we'll be happy to provide you with local tips.
If you're looking to see more of Belgium, most bigger cities can be reached quickly and easily with train station close by.
As Mechelen is quite central within Belgium and a train hub, it's also handy for visiting West-Europe (we commute regularly to Amsterdam in under 2h, but also Paris and London can be reached in similar time).
