About our home

This spacious duplex appartment is on the top floor of a quiet and authentic building within the charming city center of Mechelen, Belgium.
With 2 bedrooms, 2 balconies on either side and a large light living room, you can completely relax here.
A new kitchen was installed last year and a new bathroom this year so the basics are covered.
The master bedroom has a king size double bed, and we can put a large air bed in the second bedroom (currently used as office). There's a third bedroom but is currently not finished renovation yet.

More about us

  1. We're a Dutch/Belgian couple without kids from Mechelen and Amsterdam. We currently spend most of our time in Amsterdam so that enables us to offer our Mechelen place here.

  2. We both work in IT, Sanne as a recruiter and Nik as a consultant. Because of our jobs we are quite flexible in when and where we work, which implies we can organise ourselves to be available for assistance, or you can have the place to yourselves.

  3. As Sanne used to be a wine professional, we're always in for a good bottle of wine (thankfully Unwined is close by). Furthermore we love comedy, board games, cinema and hosting friends. We both fly parapente so that means we also travel as much as we can.

Where is it?

On the north side of the city, just a few minutes from the main marketplace and cathedral - which you can climb for an amazing view if you can handle 700 steps.
As Mechelen is not a big city, everything of interest is within walking (cobblestones all around, so avoid high heels ;-) or biking distance.

As a big fan of Mechelen we can recommend the city to everyone, young and old and we'll be happy to provide you with local tips.
If you're looking to see more of Belgium, most bigger cities can be reached quickly and easily with train station close by.

As Mechelen is quite central within Belgium and a train hub, it's also handy for visiting West-Europe (we commute regularly to Amsterdam in under 2h, but also Paris and London can be reached in similar time).
