About our home

Our charming manor house (550 m²) is 400 years old and is a listed property with amazing old features and situated on 5 ha of land and woods with a very small river. Our valley is in the middle of a tiny village in the Deep Condroz, the most beautiful region in Belgium in the Province of Namur. The whole property has undergone a complete eco-renovation to a very high standard (100 % natural materials, solar panels). New kitchen (40 m²) with Boretti stove, granite countertops, dining room with fireplace and upright piano, living room with 2 fireplaces, LED TV, library and a restored grand piano from 1831, 1 st floor master-bedroom with dressing and bathroom, 1 kid's bedroom, a guestroom with bathroom, office, 2nd floor 3 huge children's rooms, 1 bathroom with jaccuzi bath and shower, a play area for children with books, toys, television/DVD and Kinect. Barbecue and swings outside. There is plenty of space inside and outside (5 ha land) and on 3 different terraces with beautiful views on our valley and woods. A housekeeper comes during the week and takes care of our horses, dogs and cat when we are not here. Our car a Chrysler Grand Voyager and bikes could be at your disposal.

More about us

  1. We are a family of 6 and moved from Brussels 7 years ago. We run our own design and production company for wooden kids'school furniture and toys. We have 4 children (16, 14, 11 and 6 years old) who are bilingual French-German.
We love to travel and had 9 home exchanges so far: in NYC, Florida, London and Brugge, Amsterdam, Andorra,Paris, Arizona and Maryland/Annapolis in summer 2012. We think that this is a great way to discover different countries and people. We care a lot about other people's property (like our own) and are very tidy and respectful.

Neighbourhood

Our village is 30 min from Namur, 50 min from Brussels, the heart of Europe, 15 min from Dinant (Adolphe Sax - inventer of the Saxophone, museum and many festivals) and 2 hours from the Belgian coast. The Deep Condroz is the most beautiful region in Belgium with a lot of castles, the most beautiful villages in Wallonia, fruit and vegetable markets, festivals, old farms, scenic landscape, hiking, Durby Adventures, Cave of Han (Grottes de Han.be), Durbuy (smallest and quaintest town in Belgium), kayaking on the Lesse river, free entrance (with our car) to Domaine de Chevetogne nature&water fun (the biggest playground in Belgium), and of course the citadel of Namur, boat trips (Namourettes), and Maastricht (Netherlands), Luxemburg and Aachen, Cologne (Germany) 1 to 2 hours drive not far away.
We have 3 very nice poneys (2 large sizes and one bigger than Shetland) for horseback riding in our property or outside on so many beautiful tracks. Our 7 bikes are also at your disposal. Our dogs live outside and can be in a large secluded garden when we exchange houses and the cat can be placed in another outbuilding if necessary.
