“We stayed in Dani and Raf's apartment for a weekend in November. We've enjoyed it a lot! Communicating with Dani & Raf was very swift and easy. Unfortunately we did not meet each other as this was a simultaneous exchange, but they left the keys at a restaurant around the corner which gave us a wide time window to arrive. The appartement was in one word lovely! The living room gives a royal feeling while the rest of the appartement is very cozy. The location is really good, city center is within 15 minute walking distance. In their neighbourhood are a plenty cafe's and restaurants close to the appartement. Peck 20, which is in the same street towards the shopping area, is a perfect place for a delicious breakfast :). We had no expectations coming into Brussels, but we were positively surprised. Dani and Raf left a map of Brussels with a walking route to follow so we could visit the highlights in a short time. This was very thoughtful and ended up being very handy. Brussels is a beautiful city to stroll around and visit lots of vintage and antique shops. Thanks a lot Dani and Raf for your hospitality and the opportunity to discover Brussels from a special location. We would love to exchange again in the future! Cheers, Martijn & Alyssa from Amsterdam, the Netherlands. ”

About our home
Brussels travel is cheap compared to London and Paris, with a touch of charm and elegance. It is a center of European culture with almost 90 museums, beautiful parks and fascinating walks. The vibe of Brussels is further enhanced by picturesque medieval streets, lively squares, beautiful boulevards, impressive monuments, cozy cafés, fabulous restaurants and an active cultural life.
Our home is located in a quiet street in St Gilles, which is the favourite neighbourhood among expats who like to live like locals. From the top end, with its grand Art Nouveau houses, down to the earthy Gare du Midi, St Gilles is packed with quirky restaurants, shops and a buzzing nightlife. There is the beautiful art deco Victor Boin swimming pool and Turkish baths for relaxing, plus a number of theatres, cinemas and galleries to explore. It is one of Brussels’ most dynamic areas with a definite future, attracting both expats and locals to its enigmatic character.

Belgium is a country to eat, drink and be merry! When it comes to eating establishments, the country is proud of the choice and quality of its restaurants. In fact, Brussels ranks among the top European cities with the most Michelin stars. In total, the Michelin Guide for Belgium 2016 featured three restaurants with a three-star rating, 20 restaurants with a two-star rating and 106 restaurants with an one-star rating. But it’s not just highbrow dining that the Belgians excel in. According to a survey by VirtualTourist.com, Brussels was the only western European city in the top 10 destinations in the world for street food.
Belgium is unlikely to disappoint on the cultural and entertainment front. Besides impressive museums, a lively theatre scene, and some of the most picturesque historical towns in Europe, Belgium has more castles per kilometre than any other country in the world. There are also a number of colourful festivals, not least the folkloric, UNESCO-recognised Carnaval.
If you’re a beer drinker, you’ll find yourself in the capital of great beer. All major cities and towns have bars of all types, from trendy lounges to old Flemish hostelries serving an array of the best-tasting and most interesting beers in the world. In fact, in Belgium, beer is even a ‘religious’ affair, with Trappist monks having brewed and sold their own beer for centuries.

“We had such a lovely break in Brussels and stay at Dani & Raf's home before Christmas! It was a pleasure to arrange and Dani was super helpful with everything. The apartment is beautiful and homely, and Dani & Raf even treated us to chocolate treats and belgian beers for our stay. The location is perfect for anyone arriving via Eurostar like us especially as it's walkable in 15-20mins, we also took a day trip to Bruges! (you must checkout Bistro Bruut - it's AMAZING!) The apartment location is perfect for many local bars/restaurants as well as getting into central and we walked everywhere as much as we could as well as the trams being a few mins away. Great restaurants around the corner (we hope to come back to go to some of them we didn't book tables in time - get Dani's recommendations early!) as well as a short walk from The Marolles which is a fab, eclectic area to eat, wander, and explore. We loved our trip and the apartment and hope to come back! Thank you for having us! ”
