Charming Brussels house with garden in a green and quiet area well connected to the old city centre (10 min in public transport). The house is spacious (around 230m²) and comfortable; it can easily accomodate up to 8 persons.
The house was built in 1930 and presents the typical organisation of "3 rooms in a raw" of many Brussels houses.
It was recently totally refurbished up to modern standards but its charm has been kept (wooden floor, high ceilings, marble chimneys,...etc).
It consists of a spacious groundfloor including an eating room, a kitchen, a living room and an entertainment room with toys and games for the kids. From this last room, you can access our lovely terrace and garden of around 100m².
The 2 upper floors, consist in 4 spacious bedrooms (2 with 1 double bed and 2 with 2 single beds), a dressing room, a bathroom and a laundry.
We still have some baby material at disposal if needed (baby bed, high chair,...etc).
Our house is located in a quiet and green area of Brussels close to the old city centre that can be reached in only 10 min. with public transports (tram or train).
Brussels is a nice city with all the comodities and cultural offers peculiar to a European capital. It has however kept a 'human size' which makes it a stressless place to spend relaxing holidays. Brussels is also very convenient to visit other major European cities like Paris, Amsterdam or London which can easily be reached by train (in respectively 1h20, 1h50 and 2h).
A small train station located 5 min. walking from our place also makes it particularly easy and quick to reach other nice Belgian cities like Brugges, Dinant, Louvain, Anvers , etc.
For those looking for greener holidays, the neighbourhood of Brussels (15-20 minutes drive from our place) has much to offer: the wonderful "Soignes" forest, the ponds of Tervueren or the "park and castle of La Hulpe" - just to mention a few of them - offer a nice and safe green environment for biking or walking with the kids. A bit further away (30 min), the various greenways in Flanders (for example along the river "Schelde") are also ideal for biking in all safety in family. By the way, we have quite a number of bikes available at our place (2 for adults, 4 for kids - different sizes), including a baby/kid bikeseat and a bicycle rack to transport bikes on the car.
For families, Brussels and its neighbourhood has plenty to offer. Examples:
"Walibi" amusemet park - 30' drive, also reachable by train (http://www.walibi.com/belgium/be-en),
"Mini-Europe" - 10' drive, also reachable with the tram (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=dB-d-dzYNM4),
"Oceade" - 10' drive, also reachable with the tram (http://www.oceade.be/en/index.php)
"Pairi Daisa" - 45' drive (http://www.pairidaiza.eu/)
Finally, the airport of Brussels South - Charleroi (40' drive or bus shuttle) is the largest base from where the "Ryanair" company (Europe's first and largest low fares airline) operates flights to many destinations all over Europe: http://www.ryanair.com/en/cheap-flight-destinations
