About our home

We bought our little apartment five years ago when we retired and moved to Brasil as a second home. It is exactly 160 steps to the beach. The apartment is in an older, smaller building with an elevator and one parking spot. It is 100 M2 and once we had remodeled it, we ended up with only one real bedroom with sitting area, two small work areas (one for him and one for me)one with a sofa bed, two small baths (one for him and one for me), a laundry area, a nice little kitchen with copa and, of course, a sala (living room.) The apartment is small but well organized and well appointed - it has what we need to be comfortable and to get a good nights rest while in Rio.
We also have a house outside of Nova Friburgo that we will consider allowing guests to use. This has to be discussed seperately. The apartment has a maid that comes everyother week and if you need more often she might help you out (at R$120.00 per day)

More about us

  1. Camillo (Italian) and I (American)are both 'technically' retired - which mean we don't hold down full time jobs but we both still work. We decided to list this apartment to try and find a way of living in Italy for 3 months in spring of 2010. We will consider options from late 2009 through end of May 2010.
Mainly to allow myself a method of venting, I write in two blogs. visit them and see.
We enjoy a house in the mountains and several times a month a weekend in Rio to kick up our heels with friends.

Where is it?

Ipanema is a busy neighborhood with many toursits/Hotels/tours and nearly 24 hour 'action'. The shopping is definitly upscale and convenient. There are plenty of taxis, busses, and easy access to the subway system. (this would need more information) Everything is in walking distance, markets, theaters, the beach. The logoa is an easy 5 block walk then a 7 Km hike/bike trail circles the lake.(bikes can be rented both on the logoa and on the beach.)
