About our home

My apartment is comfortable, clean and charming, and is located in one of the most traditional neighborhoods of the city. The building is quiet and residential and has 24 hour doorman. It has just been recently renovated and is perfect for anyone dreaming of an authentic experience in the Wonderful City. Centrally located, is strategically positioned between the beaches, the Tijuca Forest and the downtown.
It is located a few steps from São Francisco Xavier Subway Station, a 15 minute walk from the great Maracanã Stadium, has a supermarket around the corner and two of the best restaurants in town near my block: one Italian and one Japanese.

There is one bathroom, with a shower. The small kitchen is fully equipped with blender, grill, sandwich maker, stove, hood, oven, microwave, washing line and washing machine. The living room is spacious and has a comfortable sofa, fan, cable TV and wi-fi broadband.

The apartment is on the fifth floor of a leafy street overlooking mountains and a traditional school across the street. The atmosphere is young and relaxed. He is not a luxury apartment, but is perfect for you to spend great moments in the city.

More about us

  1. My name is Leo, I am 33 years old and am a writer, poet and advertising copywriter.
A few days ago I left the advertising agency where I worked for almost 5 years. Before I start work on another project and return to everyday stressful office routine, I would like to enjoy a sabbatical period in europe.
Three years ago I had two great experiences with home exchange (using this website) and I went with my girlfriend to Paris and Amsterdam. It was unforgettable and everything worked in perfect order. I'm very excited to repeat the experience.

Where is it?

Ideally located as a touring base, my neighborhood offers easy access to the entire city by Subway (a few stops from the beaches) or $ 10 taxi from the waterfront. Near the downtown is a few stops from the Theatro Municipal, Candelária Church, Confeitaria Colombo and all the rich history that emanates from the city. To the delight of children, teenagers and even the most experienced adventurers, the largest urban forest reserve in the world - the Tijuca National Park - is located in my neighborhood. The place also has plenty of buses and is close to a train station.

For lovers of Brazilian music, some curiosity: Tijuca is the birthplace of Jorge Ben, Tim Maia and maestro Tom Jobin, who was born in the neighborhood and moved with his family to Ipanema to escape the high rents at the time.

The Tijuca has 2 botequins (a kind of typical pub) that have just honored and awarded as cultural heritages of the city: the Dona Maria's Bar (where samba composers like Moacir Luz, Joao Bosco and Aldir Blanc are always present) and Salete (which has the best empadas - kind of small salt cake - of the universe).

And if the neighborhood is full of tradition, yet is home of great Samba Schools like Salgueiro, Unidos da Tijuca (the last two champions of the carnival) and the famous Mangueira (Chico Buarque has one of the biggest fans).
