About our home

Our home is a beautiful modern and spacious apartment in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. With wooden floors throughout, our apartment has four bedrooms (one currently a study)-each with ensuite bath/shower room-and a further single bedroom in the service area, if needed. We have a well-equipped kitchen-diner and a very large living/dining room. The living room has floor to ceiling windows on two sides, giving the room a warm and inviting feel, while also offering fantastic views across the lake set in front of the building and of Rioâs famous Christ statue. The apartment has air-conditioning throughout, extensive balcony areas, communal swimming pool, secure garage parking and 24 hour on-site concierge/security.

More about us

We are Sue and Derek, a British expatriate married couple, with two (early teen and preteen) children. Sue is a manager in education and Derek a freelance writer. We have been living and working outside of the UK for several years now but are new to home exchanging. We are especially keen to exchange with fellow exchangers in London/UK to facilitate more regular return trips home.

Neighbourhood

We are ideally located in one of the nicest and trendiest parts of Rio, in Ipanema/Lagoa, within short walking distance of shops, cafes, restaurants and the beach. And with the beautiful Lagoa (lake) directly in front of the building, it offers a multitude of outdoor activities, such as cycling, running, skating, walking, even water skiing, right on the doorstep. These lakeside and beachside activities are especially lively and attractive at weekends.
