About our home

My house is a ship floating over the city !

Located on the base of the Corcovado Mountain, surrounded by the forest it is a modern two floor house built in the sixties by my father, a Bulgarian physician that left Europe by the end of WWII.

The house is now divided into two separate Lofts.
I live on the street level Loft and my brother lives downstairs.

As you enter the street level you walk into a spacious living room with beautiful wood and glass panels opening to an extraordinary view. This room is now my study.

The private area of the Loft consists of a master bedroom with a private bathroom, guest room facing the the view with private bathroom and a private study facing the calm street.

The kitchen with a gas stove, water filter, refrigerator and microwave opens to an open air patio.
This patio is my favourite place to have my meals.
In the morning colourful birds weave the space with there joyous singing.
At night the silent mountain and the stars !

I love my ship !

Where is it?

The house is situated in a quiet and peacefull neighbourhood.
Ten minutes walk down hill will get you to the busy main street of Jardim Botanico.
There you will find supermarkets, cafés, restaurants and everything you could need.

Buses connect to the Metro and to every destination in Rio.

Jardim Botanico is a neighbourhood located in the South Zone of the city.
It borders Lagoa and Botafogo neighbourhoods.

Continue walking another 5 minutes, you will get to the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas. If you enjoy biking, Ipanema beach is only 15 minutes away or a 40 minute walk.

If you choose to walk up the main street you will get to Parque Lage. Inside the Park there is an art school with a very nice café and free exhibitions. The park is connected to the Tijuca Forest.

I would recommend a 20 minute walk to the Botanical Garden for a quiet afternoon in the open air café and a visit to the park.
