About our home

The apartment has 60 square meters, on the 8th floor of a small building with elevators. It has a bedroom (with air-conditioning and a double bed) with an adjacent bathroom, a separate WC/toilets, a dining room, a "reading and music" room in which there is a sofa that can be tranformed into a bed, a kitchen and a service area. There is an open view from all the windows of the apartment.

Since the apartment is a second home, the exchange needs not be simultaneous.

More about us

I am Yves, a mathematician who used to work for the Brasilian Scientific Research Center and is now retired. My wife was a professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul in the city of Porto Alegre and is now retired also.
We have a 30 years old daughter who has studied "International Relations" at the university and is working as a consultant.
We are a somewhat cosmopolitan family since we have spent long periods of time in the United States, France, Brazil, and short periods of time in other countries.
We have made about 20 home exchanges, all very good.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

The building is localized in the residencial area of GAVEA, one mile away from the beaches of IPANEMA and LEBLON and fron the beautiful BOTANICAL GARDEM. In front of the building, one finds a small super market, a pharmacy and a bread store. Twenty yards away, one find taxis and a bus stop (busses that go tho the beaches, to the botanical gardem and to downtown). Half a mile away, one finds a nice shopping center and a fine bigger suspermarket.
