Situated in a peaceful, natural setting in the mountain town of Canmore, our cedar log home backs onto a forest and natural reserve with idyllic views of the mountains on all sides. We are on a quiet cul-de-sac with virtually no traffic. Hiking and biking trails right from the house! The Canmore Nordic Centre is around the corner. The Bow River and Main Street downtown are about 15 minutes away on foot (or 5 minute drive).
The house has three levels, with a master bedroom and en suite bathroom and a den/office on the top floor, a guest bedroom on the main floor, and two additional bedrooms on the lower level (above ground on that side). The great room is the highlight of the home, where on winter evenings you can stoke up the wood-burning stove and settle in for reading, games, or enjoy our 100-year old upright grand piano. Large windows and high ceilings make it an ideal place to enjoy the feeling of being in the forest. In the summer months, the large decks, stone BBQ, fire pit are great places to gather for marsh mellow or hotdog roasting. We also have a 14' trampoline for the kids set up in the summer.
Our home is cozy and rustic, but with all the modern amenities. The kitchen includes a bar area, modern gas stove and oven, deep sinks, dishwasher, microwave and espresso machine. The lower level family room hosts out flatscreen TV, home theatre system and Wii. We also have wireless internet service and satellite.
The home is child-friendly and our kids are happy to share their toys! We would also consider lending any outdoor gear that might come in handy for adults and a 7 and 10 year old (bikes, skateboards, street hockey gear, basketball, skates, skis etc).
With four bedrooms and three bathrooms, there is enough space for the entire family!
