We are within walking distance to most stores. Our neighbours are great and very helpful. There is no public transportation, only taxi service, so a car is necessary. Our town is about 30 minutes from the Parliament Buildings in Ottawa. Lots of sightseeing and numerous museums such as the new War Museum, Civilization Museum with IMAX, Aviation Museum, the renovated Museum of Nature, etc. The Senators, NHL hockey team, are 20 minutes away. The Trans Canada Trail goes thru our town. Great shopping available. Montreal is 2 1/2 hours east. Toronto is 4 hours west and Niagara Falls is about 6 hours west. Upper Canada Village (historical village) is just over one hour south. Winterlude, Ottawa's winter festival, is held during the first 3 weekends in February offers skating on the Rideau Canal, a new World Heritage site, and the world's longest skating canal; entertainment every weekend, and of course you must try Ottawa's famous Beavertails, pure decadence!! Our town has a pool, cycling, swimming in the Mississippi River or the town pool; boating and in the winter ice skating, skiing and numerous snowmobile trails. Also there are numerous golf courses close by.
We are both retired. We enjoy travelling and exploring new places. Judith truly enjoys her gardens and Roger like to keep busy with woodworking projects. We like to golf, take walks and ride our bicycles. We rented a car and visited 7 countries in 2007 (too much in so little time) and now we want to go back!
