About our home

Our home has recently been updated. It is open-plan, bright, airy and flows well. Since it is on the high side of the street we have majestic mountain and peek-a-boo water views. We overlook Newport Village and Heritage Mountain. We are surrounded by mountains, greenery, twinkling light at night. Living here soothes the soul. You will be minutes from beautiful mountains, world class hiking, lakes and all kinds of outdoor activities
We are close to everything: shopping, great restaurants, craft breweries, kayaking, paddle boarding, beaches, swimming, mountain biking and endless hiking trails. We are within a short walk (12 min.) to the Evergreen Line Sky Train that takes you to downtown Vancouver in 35min.
Our house has three bedrooms on the main floor. The master bedroom has a king sized bed and en-suite bathroom. Second bedroom has a queen sized bed and the third bedroom has a single bed. The main floor has a full bathroom. Our large well-equipped kitchen has lots of counter space. From the living room, sliding doors open unto a 400 sq ft deck that is great for entertaining while enjoying the view.
There is a bistro patio off the kitchen where we enjoy our morning coffee. We have beautiful gardens front and back.
The lower floor has a very large bedroom with queen bed and full bathroom. We have laundry facilities with space for hanging clothes. There is a downstairs kitchen and a Man Cave with large 48 in. TV with surround sound, an exercise bike and treadmill. The couch is a queen sized hide-a-bed. There is plenty of parking and a car is available.
Our home features large updated spaces, incredible views and is really the perfect balance of both nature and all world class night life, theater, arts, restaurants etc. that Vancouver has to offer.

More about us

  1. We are a retired couple with three adult children. I emigrated from Dublin, Ireland as a child. I would like to reconnect with my Irish roots and spend some time on the West Coast of Ireland preferably during the last the last week of July and the first two weeks in August 2019. My husband emigrated from Germany ans has family there. We are well-traveled as my husband was in the food industry which took him to all parts of North America and Europe. We have made many friends throughout the world and have had many visitors; however, we have never done a house exchange! We are hoping that this may be the first of many house exchanges as we love to travel.

Where is it?

We have a Coquitlam address; however, we are two streets in from the the Port Moody border. Since we take advantages of all this very lovely city has to offer, I feel like we live in Port Moody. Port Moody is known as "The City of the Arts" is a vibrant and trendy little city in Metro Vancouver. Greater Vancouver is constantly ranked as one of the top three most livable cities in the world. It is an easy 35 min. drive to Vancouver downtown, 30 min to the North Shore, Grouse Mountain etc. and less than a 2 to Whistler home of the 2010 Winter Olympics. We are quick a 4 min drive to Rocky Point Park Park (google to see all that is available), 3 min to the Recreation Center (exercise, pickle ball, gym), and library. Sutter Brook and Newport Villages are in the same area and offer shopping, restaurants and coffee shops
