About our home

Our home is cozy and attractive with an open concept kitchen/family room and a sunny livingroom with a wonderful view. The backyard is private, surrounded by trees, and comes complete with birds, squirrels and the occasional raccoon.

More about us

  1. My husband and I are in our early sixties. I have recently retired from teaching. My husband works for the federal government. We enjoy travel, although we have not done a lot; walking; reading; and entertaining family and friends. We have done one very successful home exchange this past summer (June, 2007), and this seems to be a very sensible approach to travel. We are probably more flexible than this description may make it seem in terms of destination and time. We are open to suggestions.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

The neighborhood is suburban, on the outskirts of historic Halifax-Dartmouth. Dartmouth is known as the City of Lakes and three of the most beautiful and well-used are within walking distance of our home. There is a park at the foot of our street, which is a hill, with numerous walking trails and a beach. Halifax, just across the harbour, has much to offer in the way of restaurants, galleries, museums, and music. There are numerous special events in the early fall including an excellent jazz festival. A car would be most convenient but public transit is available at the top and bottom of our street. There are numerous fascinating towns to visit within an hour or two of our home, and the autumn is a wonderful time to visit.
