Our home is comfortable, clean, and spacious. There is a large newly renovated kitchen with adjoining eating area, open to the living room. The back deck overlooks our beautiful back lawn, landscaped with a cedar hedge (very private) and many flowers. There are two bedrooms on the main floor, and a third room used as a study. The first bedroom has a queen bed, the second has a twin bed. The bathroom has sink, toilet, shower, tub. Downstairs is a fully furnished family room with TV, and another bedroom with a twin bed. There is also another washroom downstairs as well as laundry facilities.
We are Steve and Barb, a younger married couple who are looking to travel to Europe some time in 2007. We have not done a home exchange before but are keen to try what sounds like a great way to see another country as a resident - and allow someone to see ours.
We would like to arrange an exchange in advance in order to get to know our fellow exchangers via email first to see how best to assist with their stay in Canada.
We live in a mature and peaceful neighbourhood with many large trees and parks. There are many walking trails nearby, as well as tennis courts and other outdoor activities. Our home is located in the quiet town of Oromocto, just outside of Fredericton, New Brunswick's capital city. Here, you will find art galleries, great restaurants, shopping, theatres and many museums. Also nearby is the historic settlement of King's Landing, the beautiful Bay of Fundy, and the world's best salmon fishing. Prince Edward Island (home of Anne of Green Gables)is only a 2.5 hour drive away. Nova Scotia is only a 2 hour drive. The U.S. state of Maine is also only a 2 hour drive. This makes our home a very central location for touring the Maritime area of Canada.
