About our home

Our gorgeous 2500 square foot home was completely renovated in 2011. There are 2 full bathrooms, a huge eat-in kitchen as well as a posh formal dining room ( in case you happen to make friends in Ottawa and want to have them over for dinner...after all, Canadians ARE very friendly!) The master bedroom has a king size bed, there are queen size beds in the other two bedrooms. Since our basement is finished and furnished, it can also make room to accommodate 2 or 3 additional people.

We are an interesting couple - a baking traveler for a wife and a techno geek for a husband. Our house is therefore decorated with many eclectic traveling momentos, usually smells like vanilla cookies and has all of the latest gadgets - a fully wireless sound system throughout the house (sonos - can be used with your smart phone), automated heating and cooling (can be used with your smart phone) and Apple TV products on all TVs (guess what you can operate them with!).

The house itself is beautiful but wait until you see the yard! We call it the park - more than a half acre of green privacy complete with the perfect amenities to feel like you're "urban campers" (complete with fire pit and adirondack chairs). We're in a quiet urban neighborhood, wedged between great shopping opportunities and the cultural/historic area of Canada's national capital and the backdrop of the famous Gatineau Hills that change colors every season.

The Ottawa/Gatineau area is the perfect pied-à-terre if you're visiting east Canada. From here, Montreal, the historic city of Kingston and the world famous Thousand Islands are a day-trip. If you're staying in the area for more than a week, you can use your weekend to escape to the birthplace of French America, Québec City, Toronto and even Niagara Falls!
