About our home

Our spacious family home offers the quintessential Canadian summer experience. We have a modern kitchen open to a large lounge and diningroom, outdoor dining and a spa. Our home is located on The Old Ausable Channel with four bikes (3 adult, 2children's bikes) and a canoe to explore our river channel which runs through Pinery Park. Wood floors, two fireplaces, air conditioning roomy bedrooms offer every comfort. Car exchange is possible as well. Our protected forest is home to over 240 different species of birds, deer and other wildlife. We are 5 minutes drive from Grand Bend, a summer magnet for visitors with a waterpark for youngsters, famous sunsets on one of the most famous beaches in Ontario, shops, restaurants, a winery and summer theatre. Lots to see and do and great relaxation in a quiet safe enighbourhood.

  1. We are Alex and Sharon, retired teachers and experienced house exchange partners. All of our experiences have been very positive. We delight in learning about different cultures and cuisines. We take excellent care of exchange homes and our partners have done the same for us. We are open to any suggestions for travel at any time of year. We love travel and our home reflects this.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

We are located just 3 km from downtown Grand Bend, one of the most popular Ontario beach towns. World famous sunsets, a children's water park and our clean safe beaches, cafes, shops and summer theatre all nearby make for a great family vacation no matter what age the children. our immediate neighbourhood has 2 tennis courts, a canoe launch and children's playground. Our private beach is a 5 minute cycle or 15 minute walk away. We provide a canoe, tennis racquets and balls and 5 bicycles for your enjoyment. Pinery Provincial Park offers educational programs, a visitor centre, biking paths and camp stores. The Old Ausable Channel is at our back door. Paddle into Pinery to enjoy the local wildlife including white tailed deer.

The Rotary Trail allows for hiking and biking to local shops and restaurants as well as the Sunday Flea Market and downtown attractions.

Bike everywhere. It is good exercise and often faster than driving on weekends.
