About our home

We offer a very comfortable smoke free home in one of the most desirable areas a short walk from Lake Huron one of Canada's famous Great Lakes, a fresh water gem with world famous sunsets. Our custom built home, nestled in a rare Oak Savanna forest, has all of the amenities to make your visit comfortable and worry free. We overlook the Old Ausable Channel next door to Pinery Provincial Park. Four bedrooms and three bathrooms offer plenty of space for a family visit. We have no pets. We include 4 bikes, a kayak and a canoe. Tennis courts and a children's play ground are just a 5 minute walk away. WiFi, computer, two TV's, a pool table/ping pong table, piano, keyboard add to the fun. The home is surrounded by decks for outdoor dining and relaxing and an outdoor hot tub. The covered porch includes a gas barbecue for use rain or shine. Our cleaning lady continues her care of our home during the exchange. While our home is the centre of comfort and relaxation, possible day trips to Toronto and Niagara add to the fun.

  1. We are two retired teachers who have had great experiences using house exchanges in the past, one to British Columbia another to France,one to Bath, England and three to Australia. We enjoy tennis, golf, cross-country skiing and cycling. We are non-smokers with no pets. We are open to exchanges in many possible destinations and are flexible about timelines. We love our home and maintain it well and would take loving care of your home and belongings as if they were our own. Our exchange partners describe their visits here as outstanding.

Where is it?

Our home, overlooking the Ausable River, is located close to tennis courts, hiking, biking, theater and shopping, and one of the most beautiful beaches in Canada. Our forest is home to over 240 species of birds and various butterflies, moths, reptiles, white tailed deer,a nature lovers dream. We are adjacent to Pinery Provincial Park with hiking, biking trails and educational programs. Our beach, located on beautiful Lake Huron features world famous sunsets. Local summer theatre offers excellent family entertainment. The flea market sells a wide variety of unique items to take home memories of an exceptional experience. We are one hour from the US border, 1 hour from famous Stratford Shakespearean Festival Theatre, 2 hours from Toronto and 3 hours from famous Niagara Falls.
