About our home

Our home is roomy and comfortable with a split level. The top story is like a bungalow with a cheerful living room, kitchen, bathroom and 2 bedrooms. There is a computer room/office which can easily be changed back to a bedroom.
The basement has an extra family room - there is a television on each level....seats 10. Sofa converts to a bed down there also. There is a fully equipped art/craft room for use. There is a 2nd bathroom and laundry room down there. The back yard has a deck, sunken garden and little pond - enjoy a barbeque! There are neighbours on each side.

More about us

We are Christine and Steve Bretherick. Our daughters are all away. We have been wanting to try house exchange for some time so this is exciting! I am a teacher and provide professional development and workshops in the visual arts. I am off all summer and Steve is taking some time off from his work in the chemical industry. I have family in Wales so would not mind that, but anywhere sounds great to start! Our daughters are all successfully launched. They would be a phone call away if the exchangers had any questions.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

We are on the edge of town on a main road and the bus stops right outside - downtown Guelph is 10 minutes away. The car or bus will take you to Toronto in an hour. Niagara Falls in an hour and a half by car. You can go to a show and be home in just over an hour.
Guelph has some nice shopping with downtown and the mall; a good choice of restaurants and a few nightclubs for the teens.
Golf courses abound in the region. St. Jacobs is a Mennonite touristy spot with lovely shops and cafes and a market that is packed on Thursdays and Saturdays.
