More about us

  1. We are Jane and Nigel with two (well-behaved!)teenage sons, and we all enjoy travelling and experiencing different cultures. I work for local government and my husband is a financial advisor.
We can offer our second home in Nova Scotia for exchanges so dates do not have to be simultaneous! We keep it clean and comfortable - we also let it out for vacations. We have exchanged homes before and take care and consideration when in other property - we count is as a priviliege to be invited to experience another family's home!

Where is it?

Our house is ideally situated in a friendly community surrounded by woodland with local lake access, walks 'on the doorstep' plus a large playground/park area for families just 5 minutes from the front door. The nearest beach (Laurencetown)is only 4 kms away and it is 10 minutes drive to the Cole Harbour/Dartmouth shopping malls, leisure centre (with swimming pool and ice rink).
There are golf courses, hiking trails, beautiful beaches and rugged countryside all within half an hour's drive of the house. Abundant wildlife and outdoor activites make it ideal for both active and relaxing holidays.
The richly historic city of Halifax is 20 minutes drive away (or you can take the ferry across from Dartmouth) with art galleries, great restaurants, a casino, victorian public gardens and the famous Citadel overlooking the harbour entrance. Nightlife in the city is vibrant with many pubs, clubs, live theatre, sidewalk bistros and lots of music - the Metro Centre attracts major stars!
