About our home

Our home is in a friendly neighbourhood of similar houses. Our friends here are of mixed ages, all vivacious and friendly. Our house is comfortable, well-maintained and roomy. We have a second home 3 hours away on Lake Huron that could also be used by whomever we exchange. It is also winterized, comfortable and roomy and only minutes to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world- Sauble Beach. There is lots to see and do near our Burlington house, including Toronto, 30 minutes away, Hamilton,, 20 minutes away, Niagara Falls 45 minutes away. Anything you would want to do is within an hour's drive. Our beach house is in a very quiet area, but there are many small towns and villages around to visit and because these are tourist towns, often there are festivals and celebrations to entertain tourists.

More about us

  1. My name is Elizabeth and my husband's name is Nash. I am a retired teacher, a musician and a writer. My husband has his own business as a consultant to greenhouses and nurseries. We love to travel. We also love to garden, but have help with these, since we have the two places. I spend a lot of time at the piano and at writing. My husband loves to watch television and we have a large television in Burlington and at Sauble Beach. We also listen to a lot of music and have a large collection of CDs. Our three children are all university graduates, grown up with families of their own. Our daughter lives a few blocks away and can help with any problems that might arise. Our sons are not in this area, one being in Chicago, the other in Guelph Ontario.

Where is it?

Burlington is an up and coming city. We have a beautiful lakeside park- Lake Ontario- which is being developed even more so at the cost of millions of dollars. There are bicycle paths here and walkways along the water. Plans are underway for a marina at the bottom of our main street and a large restaurant at the other end. Burlington is becoming more polygot, like Toronto and therefore we have restaurants of every variety from Thai food to Swiss, etc. North-east of us, Toronto is the main attraction for most visitors to our area. This magnificant city is becoming one of the leading cities of the world with beautiful buildings, amazing shopping and every entertainment possible. West of us is Hamilton, a large industrial city famous more for its prestigious university and world-famous hospital and medical centre. Niagara Falls is world famous and only a few minutes away. Another beautiful place to visit is Niagara on the Lake, where fantastic shopping is the drawing card. As far as theatre is concerned, there are many excellent theatres in Toronto showing all the lead productions. Hamilton has several major theatres and Niagara on the Lake has the Shaw Festival which is outstanding.A little further away is the Stratford Festival and the menonite area of St. Jacobs and Elmira. The Maple Syrup Festival in Elmira is great fun in the spring.
