About our home

Our country house is cozy, clean and well suited for a family or 4 adults. The house is located on a sunny 1/2 acre lot and is surrounded by a lovely perennial garden. It is a short walk to the beach and the local co-op store and small restaurants and shops.

We are a family of 2 women with twin daughters (aged 16 years). My partner is a retired teacher/elementary school counsellor and I am a health care administrator.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Hornby Island is one of the northern Gulf Islands off the coast of British Columbia. Hornby Island is well known for its beautiful white sandy beaches, local artists/musicians and great salmon fishing. It has only 1000 permanent residents but in the summer months, approximately 10,000 visitors come to the island to enjoy kayaking, swimming, fishing, snorkelling and mountain biking. The Hornby Island Music Festival and Art Show is held the first 2 weeks of August and is always a wonderful event. However, visiting Hornby anytime between June and October is great.

Hornby Island, like many of the Gulf Islands, is very dry in the summer months and on severe water restrictions. People on the island are very environmentally friendly and "reduce, recycle and reuse". There are many paths for walking or cycling.
