About our home

Our home was built 6 years ago as our dream home. It is a victorian cottage style home with a spectacular view of the mountains. Gardening is one of our passions so the house is surrounded by beatiful country gardens as well as a large organic vegetable garden. We are within earshot of a mountain creek from which you may drink. The house has 3 floors of living space with a wrap around deck perfect for catching the morning sun as it rises over the mountains. There is a cozy wood burning stove and a fire pit for evening capfires. The living room, dining room and kitche are open concep surrounded by a view out every window.

We live on the edge of town with the woods and mountain trails on our doorstep. The village of Kaslo has appeared in National Geographic magazine as one of the most beautiful towns in the world. Harrowsmith magazine also covered Kaslo as one of the 10 most beautiful towns in Canada. Check out the website or .ca, i think. We also have a wonderful Jazz festival the first weekend in August. Downtown Kaslo is a 10 minute walk down the hill with a spectacular view of Kootenay Lake all the way. There are many beautiful day drives as we are a 1 hour lakeside drive north of the larger town of Nelson, also a beautiful heritage town, and a magnificent 45 minute drive across a mountain pass through some old growth cedar forest to Slocan lake with glacier vistas and quaint mountain villages.

Our Kootenay Lake is wonderful for swimming, boating and fishing, and hiking. Very peaceful with very little traffic. Too good to be true!

I am a school teacher and my husband is a very skilled carpenter. We moved to Kaslo 6 years ago for the beauty, peace and to be close to our 2 sons and 3 grand children.
