About our home

115-year old beautiful warm home with queen-sized bedroom, full kitchen, living room & private balcony, WiFi; located in Ottawa's oldest neighborhood of Lowertown; 5 minutes to Byward Market, National Gallery and Notre-Dame Cathedral, Parliament Hill, Rideau Canal, Governor General's residence, historic Beechwood Cemetery & more! Nearby Winterlude in January-February and the largest Chamber Festival in the world (@St. Brigid's Center for the Arts & Chalmers Church) in July await you! That's beyond all the other things to discover all year round...

Plenty of 100-year old character outside and inside with massive white baseboards, beautiful hardwood floors and lots of windows. Pushed warm air keeps our home toasty warm in winter and cool in summer!

While we live on the ground floor of this duplex. You will have your own entrance and your own space on the top floor of this charming duplex, which includes a cozy Queen-sized bedroom, fully equipped kitchen, leather triple-seater sofa in spacious living room which extends into a dining room. An office space with full light from the door leading to a nice size balcony is equiped with a comfortable desk and chair, a computer and a printer! The bathroom has a shower and a small bath ...towels included!

Living rather nearby, I am easily accessible via text-messaging (613-406-8818), via e-mail and phone. While a computer is available for your use, with some great bookmarks regarding Ottawa, I can offer many suggestions that will help you better enjoy Ottawa! Bytowne Cinema is just 3 blocks away: the best repertoire cinema in town!

The neighbourhood is peaceful yet 3 blocks away the Byward Market has some racy nightlife and a wonderful selection of fine restaurants, including the French Metropolitan, Kochi Southeast Asian, a multitude of pubs and some spicy and delightful Italian or sushi places!

While street parking is free, public transport is just a few blocks away, then again a 10 minute walk through the market brings you to The Rideau Center with its multiple shops. This Center is also the hub for Ottawa's public transit. VirtuCars are available nearby and taxis usually arrive within 5 minutes of calling. Affordable bike rentals about 15-minutes away as well as kayak rentals figure along the Rideau Canal. Meanwhile, the walks can afford wonderful discoveries, with so much so nearby.

At 277, you'll be super central to Ottawa, just a 5-minute walk to Byward Market and about the same to National Gallery of Canada and Foreign Affairs. National Defence, Rideau Centre and Parliament are also nearby, just 10 minutes away! Take the nearby King Edward boulevard North and you will find the beautiful Gatineau Hills, in about 15 minutes, welcoming cycling, hiking, jogging or cross-country skiing. Bike and jogging paths abound along the nearby Rideau Canal and Ottawa River, about 10 minutes away! Loblaws 24-hour grocery, LCBO and Ottawa's best repertoire cinema, The Bytowne cinema, are 3 blocks away, same as Shopper's Drugmart which has a Post Office counter. The Rideau Center with its multiple shops is also the hub for Ottawa public transit and is only a 10-minute walk away.
