About our home

Custom-built in 2010, our 3-bedroom home boasts a cathedral ceiling in the great room, with a southern expanse of windows to capture the warmth of the sun year-round. Ceramic tiles and maple hardwood floors limit asthma and allergy concerns, although we do currently have a pet rabbit (Mini Rex). Our dual-system heat pump is electric and propane for heating and air conditioning.

A 20-minute drive brings you to Cornwall, the closest city, while a 60-minute drive can bring you to Ottawa or to Montreal. We are more than happy to advise for quality or economical ways to spend your time in the area - from outdoor adventures to local libraries. Bikes and helmets are available during your stay.

Our 3 acre property is partially cleared, partially wooded and is located on a county road that winds you through farmland and residential areas. It is easy to while the day away by not even leaving our property, or take a day trip to Toronto (4 hours west) to visit a variety of theatres or sports venues.

More about us

  1. We have been married 25 years and have 4 boys (ranging from teen to toddler)

  2. We both work in education (teacher and a chaplaincy leader)

  3. We love to visit vibrant cities and we recharge in natural settings

Where is it?

Definitely a rural setting, with no access to public transportation. A vehicle is most necessary to travel these parts. Should you require, we might be able to arrange for someone to meet you and we can also offer our vehicle for the duration of your stay.

Bit of culture
St Raphael's is a 10 minute drive east of our home - one of the earliest faith settlements of eastern Ontario.
Spot of exercise
There are plenty of activities upon our property for the young ones (trampoline, swings, a cabin, forest walking). Bicycles are available for use during your stay and a half-hour cycling will bring you into Martintown where you can find a community park with modern structures for climbing.
Day tripping
A one hour drive northeast to Canada's Capital, Ottawa. A one hour drive east to the vibrant city of Montreal. 2 hours west brings you to our favourite city, Kingston. Toronto is 4 hours west of us.
