About our home

Imagine enjoying a warm cup of coffee sitting out on the deck, overlooking the clear water and pristine beauty of natural British Columbia. Our home is located on beautiful McLeese Lake, halfway between Williams Lake and Quesnel. We can offer either a cabin, which sleeps up to 6 adults, or a motel kitchenette, which sleeps 3-4. Both the motel and cabin are right on the lake. This would include use of fishing boats, kayaks, canoes and paddleboats to enjoy on the lake. As well, we would be happy to provide equipment to try your hand at fishing, hunting or mountain biking. There is a children's playground and nice lakeside beach with dock for swimming. The cabin is rustic, with electricity and water and bathroom facilities in a seperate building. Perfect for a mountain camping adventure. The motel is more modern, with a full kitchenette and bathroom, satellite television and telephone. There is laundry facilities and internet access available.

More about us

  1. We are Craig and Mary-Jean, a retired couple in our early 50's, who left the hectic life in the big city in favour for a chance to live our dream of living lakeside in B.C. Our two grown children are frequent visitors, along with our 3 year old grandson. In our previous careers, Craig worked in retail and real estate and Mary-Jean was a travel agent. We love fishing, boating, traveling and meeting new people.

Where is it?

McLeese Lake is a small resort community. There is a general store, restaurant and pub on the lake. The cities of Williams Lake and Quesnel are a short distance away and can provide all the necessary shopping, dining and entertainment experiences. The local area is full of wonderful B.C. adventures, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, train tours, hiking and more. There is also a historic "ghost town" community a short distance away called Barkerville.

The lake itself is a fisherman's paradise. Stocked with kokanee salmon and rainbow trout, catching a big one is a common occurance. The natural beauty of B.C. shines through here, with the tall forests and large number of area wildlife. It isn't uncommon to see Bald Eagles, Ospreys, Loons, Black Bears, Deer and other native creatures roaming the surrounding areas.

The Cariboo area is also home to several great hunting areas in the winter months, so we would be happy to accomodate anyone's needs in this area as well.
