About our home

Our vacation home has been updated while keeping it's original cozy charm. The main house has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms upstairs. The Master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and a fabulous wood burning fireplace. Downstairs, a dining room, sunny sitting room, living room , powder room and modernized kitchen look out onto Lake Mercier and surrounding woodlands. A screened in porch on the lake side gets the morning sun and leads to a hot tub (great after a days skiing or after an early summer or fall's swim off the private dock). A guest log cabin has a loft bedroom with a Queen bed and pull-out couch and a toilet.

Cold and snowy in the winter and very warm in the summer, Quebec, Canada has it all. Skiing at nearby Mont Tremblant resort in the winter or golfing, cycling along miles of special cycling paths and swimming in the pristine lake in the summer, this home is a wonderful place to stay any time of the year. Google Mont Tremblant, Quebec and see the many activities and restaurants found nearby. Dog sledding, rafting, tubing, farmer's markets are just some of the nearby events. Ottawa and Montreal are less than 2 hours away.

Where is it?

Buzzy restaurants
Les Mots is a cafe/wine bar/restaurant located in the old village. There are many restaurants at the base of the nearby ski resort as well as in the old village and St Jovite, the biggest town with large grocery stores 10 mins away.
Cool bars
The ski resort village has bars, restaurants and entertainment year round. Quieter spots may be found in the old village.
Cozy cafés
Les Mots is a favorite of mine but cafes are plentiful in St Jovite or at the resort.
Retail therapy
Lots of people enjoy shopping at the resort village. Other shops are found in St Jovite.
Bit of culture
Ottawa and Montreal are only 2 hours away. They have great museums, shopping etc.. Montreal in predominately french speaking and Ottawa is predominately English speaking and the capital of Canada.
Walks in the park
There are several parks nearby where one can go for a leisurely stroll or a brisk uphill hike. The area is an international destination for cycling, skiing, and other outdoors activities.
Spot of exercise
Skiing at one of the many resorts nearby or; in the summer, golf at one of the many beautiful courses nearby or cycling along 100's of miles of bike paths (a converted train track) are a couple of things to do. Zip lining, rafting, dog sledding etc. can be added to the mix. The house has 2 kayaks for exploring Lac Mercier.
Day tripping
Ottawa and Montreal are easy day trips. In the summer open air markets are found in various villages nearby and on the way to Montreal.
