About our home

We have a beautiful apartment, small and cozy but very convenient. We are located in the heart of "Le Plateau" and are at walking distance of everything to see in Montréal. We have two bedrooms, one with one double bed, one with two double bunked-beds. We have lots of toddlers toys. We have a well equiped kitchen and are close to many great market to buy food from all over the world. It's a typical apartment of Montreal, with wooden floor in the bedrooms, exterior staircase and balcony. We have a small urban backyard with a charcoal barbecue, a sandbox and a chalkboard! We live in the first floor of a triplex filled with our family who can help you with your stay here. We have a Toyota Highlander 2001 which we could exchange too if the exchange is simultaneous. We have bikes and helmets if you want to discover the city with bikes, we use them a lot as Montreal is becoming more and more equiped with great bike paths!
We are non-smokers and wants to exchange with non-smokers.
If you are are coming from a warm place and would like to visit in the winter, we can lend you some winter equipment(we have done that in the past).

More about us

  1. We are Marie-Josée (36) and Sébastien (40), a married couple with two sons (Maxence, 3 years old and Théo, 5 years old). I am a pediatric nurse and my husband, Sébastien is a theatre artist, he writes and teaches theatre. We enjoy travelling when able to get away but have not travelled very far since we had the boys (the Carribeans and the Maritimes...I guess the Carribeans are not that close...). We have exchanged our home twice already. We like to go to "children-friendly" places, so that the kids can enjoy the travel too. We are pretty flexible with the time if we have enough time to plan ahead.
We are very open to "small" trips to places we can reach by car, in Ontario, the Maritimes, or East USA.
We want to go to Europe with the boys in the summer 2009 for about a month. We have no definite time set yet and are open to offers.

Where is it?

Montreal is the biggest city of the province of Quebec. Our house is situated in a beautiful area in Montreal, with shopping streets around, not far from the beautiful Parc Lafontaine and the famous Mont Royal where we can see the whole city of Montreal. It is one of the most typical "quartiers" of Montreal in which many films are shot. Nice restaurants, French and foreign cuisines, theatre, museums, Cafes with music and entertainment in the evening. The trendy St-Laurent street is five minutes from our apartment. You can easily walk downtown where all the summer festival are. You only have to walk 5 minutes to reach a metro station (Sherbrooke station or MontRoyal Station). It is a very lively area but quite safe at the same time and our home is quiet (from an urban point of view of course). There are lots of young families and many parks for young children. The area where we live is very portuguese with portuguese grills and bakeries. There is also wine growing in the front of many of our neighbours, which apparently is one of the legacy from the Portuguese! Our home is the perfect place to visit Montreal.
