“I really recommend staying at Diane's. The street is really lovely and her house is classic, comfortable and cozy. It is better than it looks in the pictures. The area isn't far from the subway station and is conveniently close to a Whole Foods supermarket. It has all the needed commodities and even a pleasant terrace. But the best of all was the communication with the owner, super fast and clear answers to everything. We didn't get to meet Diane in person but we hope to do it someday. ”

About our home
My home is a lovely 2- story, 3-bedroom + charmer. With a beautiful south facing garden, the sun pours into the cosy living room all day. The well-equipped kitchen with stainless steel island is the centre of the house. A stunning dining room completes the first floor.
Upstairs, you will find 2 bedrooms, a small exercise/reading room and a just renovated bathroom with beautiful walk-in shower. In the bright lower you will find a fully furnished suite that includes a seating area with TV, a queen-size bed, a full bathroom with jacuzzi style tub/shower, and a kitchenette. Laundry is also in the lower level.
The lovely, quiet and very private garden is a real oasis. You won't believe you are in the center of the city. Equipped with a dining table and a cosy seating area, it is a lovely spot for a quiet read, a late day drink and dinner on a sultry summer night.
The beautiful Summerhill neighbourhood is a perfect spot from which to enjoy your stay in Toronto. Stroll to the local shops where you will find some of the cities finest food purveyors. A short walk takes you to Yorkville for lunch and Bloor Street to shop. Stop at the Royal Ontario Museum for a bit of history, enjoy the beautiful Gardiner Museum (ceramics), then head over to the magnificent Koerner Hall for a concert. Have dinner at one of the great local restaurants, and you have had a perfect day --- all within walking distance of home. Want to go further afield? The subway is a 5 minute walk away and will take you anywhere you want to go in the city.
If you like to cook, just a block away you will find the city's finest food at the Shops of Summerhill - a butcher, a fish monger, beautiful fresh fruit and vegetables and one of the city's finest patisseries. Pick up your wine at the beautifully restored train station that is now home to the best wine selection in the city. Fresh flowers are available in abundance.
If you prefer to dine out, there are several great spots all within a couple of blocks --- locavore, Italian, French, Asian, pubs, fine dining, casual cafes.
The cities best interior designers can be seen shopping in the local decor and designs shop, and you are just a few minutes walk from the fashionable Bloor Street and Yorkville.
Everything you need is within a couple of blocks, but take advantage of the central location to explore the rest of Toronto.

I am a mature single woman, recently retired. In my first professional life, I had a long and successful career in the book publishing industry. In my second career, I designed kitchens and bathrooms. I fully retired a few years ago and am eager to get back to exploring great cities. I usually travel with one or two like minded friends who love great food, local arts and cultural experiences ,big cities and tiny villages.
These days, I am most interested in a month long exchange in a major city. I offer my Toronto home, and could also make my house in Nova Scotia available for part of the exchange. -
I have had wonderful exchanges in Paris, Genoa, Dublin, Sante Fe, New Mexico , among others. I think it is the best way to travel, and I love having the chance to make my home available so others can enjoy Toronto.

I have a beautiful waterfront home in Nova Scotia (near Lunenburg) that could also be considered for a swap

Neighbourhood
Summerhill is one of the finest and most desirable neighbourhoods in Toronto. Centrally located, full of tree-lined streets, and great for walking, it is also on the major transit lines making the entire city easily accessible. Some of the best food shops in the city are just down the street. The soon-to-be opened Eataly will be just a 10 minute walk away. The beautiful and recently redesigned Ramsden Park is a block away.
