About our home

Our downtown condo is perfectly located for exploring Toronto. In fact - everything is so convenient, we don't even bother owning a car! Though we're right in the downtown core, our unit faces onto a courtyard, providing a respite from the city sounds. Sip cocktails as you lounge on the outdoor sofa and enjoy a barbecue dinner on the extended balcony. (While you may not want to lounge during the winter, we use the barbecue year round). The kitchen features stainless steel appliances and an espresso machine for your morning latte. A Keurig coffee maker is also provided, if you're not up to using the espresso machine. There's also a waffle iron, blender, tea kettle, toaster, etc.

The master bedroom has a queen-size bed and ensuite bathroom with tub/shower. The second bathroom features a glass-enclosed shower. Our condo is a 2 bedroom space, though one bedroom is currently being used for a home office. Need extra sleeping space? The sofa pulls out to a queen size bed.

You'll love this location - walk to the famous St. Lawrence Market, the Eaton Centre, CN Tower, Aquarium, sporting and concert venues - you can even walk to Raptors, Blue Jays or Maple Leafs games!

We also own a 3 bedroom home in Palm Springs that is also available for home swaps. We welcome longer-term swaps (weeks, months), as well. Look on LHS for Palm Springs Slice of Paradise.

And we love spending time at our vacation home in Palm Springs, California, too. Our Palm Springs home is available for swaps.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Just two blocks away is the St. Lawrence Market, ranked the best food market in the world by National Geographic. It's the perfect spot to pick up fresh croissants for breakfast, and a wide range of fresh fruits, vegetables, meats and baked goods. Looking to do a little shopping? You're just a 10 minute walk from the Eaton Centre. Theatre? The Elgin and Winter Garden theatres are just a 10 minute walk, too.

King Street and Queen Street subway stops are an easy walk, and the King Street streetcar is just a block away to whisk you to the Entertainment District within minutes. The Distillery District is about a 15 minute walk, and from there, you can stroll the pedestrian path along the Don River or head down to Cherry Beach.

Buzzy restaurants
There are so many, you'll have a tough time choosing! We recommend Lena, Mangia e Bevi, El Catrin... oh, so many! Tell me what kind of food you like and I'll make some customized recommendations.
Cool bars
Reservoir Lounge is perfect for a night of blues, C+C Whiskey Lounge for drinks, and we're partial to sipping vodka martinis at Pravda - a nod to our years spent living in Moscow.
Cozy cafés
Fahrenheit Coffee is right across the street! So is Starbucks.
Retail therapy
King Street East is known as the Design District, the Eaton Centre is just a short walk away, and The Distillery District has lots of small, independent shops. Catch the subway up to Bloor Street and explore trendy Yorkville.
Bit of culture
There are lots of great live theatre venues close by. The Royal Ontario Museum and Art Gallery of Ontario are easily accessed by subway - though we prefer to walk!
Walks in the park
St. James Park is right across the street, or wander down to the waterfront.
Spot of exercise
There are two gym facilities in our complex, bike rentals are easy to find within a block, and I have some regular running routes I'm happy to share with anyone!
Day tripping
You'll likely spend all your time exploring Toronto, but Canada's Wonderland, Niagara-on-the-Lake and Niagara Falls are all ideal for a day trip.
