About our home

Welcome to our sun-drenched 750-square-foot pied-a-terre on the third floor of an Edwardian townhouse on a leafy street one block from Parliament and Carlton in downtown Toronto.
- Living room/dining room with skylight and bistro set
- Coffee, toaster, microwave, fridge, plates/cutlery & glasses are all available (no stove or kitchen/cooking area).
- Free WiFi
- Writing nook overlooking giant magnolia tree
- Desk with office chair and printer/scanner/copier
- Three-piece bathroom
- Private third floor entrance and deck overlooking Japanese themed back garden with pond.
- 1 parking space is available in the back lane.
- Your access is via a back lane, through the back garden gate and up 2-story, outdoor, spiral staircase to private 3rd floor deck and suite entrance. Staircase is narrow and large baggage is not recommended.
- Due to the fact that this is a city pad, we do not have a stove. Dishes are done in the bathroom sink.

Please note that this is a home with a very quiet tenant who lives below the suite. We do require that noise be kept to a minimum between 2130 - 0700, nightly.

The king-sized bedroom is open to the living room, with a teak folding screen for privacy. The second bedroom has a locking door and lots of closet space.

The neighbourhood is full of great shops and restaurants, and transit is steps away. It's a three-minute walk to the Carlton streetcar. Our apartment is perfect for couples or small families.

We love our home-away-from-home and take meticulous care of it. We hope that our guests will do the same as they enjoy our wonderful city. Our basement tenant (Craig) is a good friend and manages the property in our absence. He can attend to any concerns that you may have while you are there. His phone number will be given to you prior to your stay.

Toronto is Canada's largest and most multicultural city. It has much to offer with world-class music, food and theatre venues. We are a short transit ride from the best the city has to offer.

Toronto is also within a few hours' drive of the famous Niagara Falls, the wilderness of many national and provincial parks, several excellent wine regions, two major summer theatre festivals and the gorgeous Sandbanks - North America's longest fresh water beaches (and close to Amy's home town!).

We look forward to welcoming you!

Neighbourhood

Welcome to Cabbagetown, a vibrant historical district which offers the best of downtown Toronto in the midst of the largest community of Victorian homes in North America.

Everything you need is in walking distance!

Groceries: There's a No Frills supermarket two blocks south at the corner of Parliament and Spruce. The Epicure Shop (on Parliament just south of Carlton) is a great little gourmet grocery store with excellent cheese, bread, pastries, deli meats, and other goodies. They also serve good coffee and the best breakfast sandwiches in the city. For late-night groceries, try the Rexall drug store or the convenience store one block north at Parliament and Winchester (open until 10:00), or the Esso station at Parliament and Amelia (open very late).

Drug stores: there's a Rexall at Parliament and Winchester (open until 10 pm), and a Shoppers Drug Mart on Parliament just south of Carlton (open until midnight).

Beer, wine, and liquor are at the LCBO on Parliament just north of Aberdeen. There's also a Beer Store another block north on Parliament.

For a classic greasy spoon breakfast, head to Chew Chew's Diner at Carlton & Bleecker.
