About our home

Our 3 bedroom plus home is located centrally in a hip neighbourhood of Ottawa known as HIntonburg. We are close to shops, markets, restaurants, public transit, bike paths and more. You can enjoy meals on our sunny deck with a small backyard garden in the summertime or cozy up on the couch and play the piano, or any of our instruments. The main floor of the house is open concept with an updated, modern style. We have all the basic amenities including a washer and dryer in the basement. The house is heated centrally and there is a small A/C unit for the downstairs.

As the nation's capital, Ottawa is host to endless summer festivals and is known for its big city, small village feel. It is an interesting mix of both modern and historic sites and is also home to the National Art Gallery of Canada and numerous museums, galleries and other attractions. Ottawa is a 2 hour drive from Montreal, 4 hours to Toronto/Niagara region and also accessible to locations in the North Eastern United States like New York City. In the winter, this city offers endless activities with many ski hills nearby, the Rideau Canal within walking distance (the largest skateway in the world) and beautiful Gatineau park (with over 300 kilometres of groomed cross-country, snowshoe and snow bike trails). Gatineau Park is also known for its stunning fall colours and beautiful vistas. There are many attractions for kids including Calypso Waterpark (1/2 hour drive), Mont-Cascades, trampoline parks, skate boarding facilities, public swimming pools, beaches and MORE! It is truly an outdoor enthusiast's mecca with lots of options for those who prefer urban life.

Hintonburg is a trendy neighbourhood in the heart of the city. We are bordered by Little Italy and Chinatown, both of which offer many restaurants, shops and other amenities. We have a public swimming pool a short walk from the house, many parks close by and all of Ottawa easily accessible by bicycle, walking or public transit. For food lovers, we are in the heart of the restaurant district with many coffee shops, breweries and more. For active travellers, we are right next to a bicycle path network that connects the entire city with easy access to Gatineau Park, for serious cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts. For art lovers, we are close to numerous small galleries and within easy access to the National Gallery of Canada and the National Arts Centre.
