About our home

Our family home in Pemberton, 25mins north of Whistler BC, is perfect for extended family get-togethers and holidays all through the year. Walking distance to the town but feels like a hundred miles from everything. Fall asleep to the sound of the Pemberton creek waterfall, lounge around the pool watching paragliders floating into the valley, sit around the fire pit toasting marshmallows in the evening, cosy down by the fire after a long hot tub on a winters day. A great road connection makes Whistler an easy drive for long ski days or summer excursions. Large windows throughout the house open onto expansive views of the surrounding forest and mountains so you really feel like you've escaped to the hills.

Pemberton is a mecca for summer and winter tourism: world class mountain biking, hiking from the doorstep, a local lake for canoeing, paddleboarding and swimming, plus superb golfing and horseback riding. Once the snow arrives there is a world class ski resort a short drive away with ski runs open from end November to April. The town itself has everything you need: grocery stores, pharmacy, weekly summer farmers market, bmx track, skate park, water park, large community centre with library, a few fantastic restaurants, two cafes and a bakery. The many lakes, rivers, streams and beaches in the wider area offer jet boating, kayaking, rafting, fishing and paddle boarding. Local winter activities include cross country skiing, snow shoeing, back country skiing, fat biking, sledding and touring.

It is 33km to Whistler resort on the highway and 2 hours to Vancouver.

Our home was built in 1982 by the first logging family in Pemberton and it retains many of the original features, including front doors and fireplace carved with aboriginal art, stained glass bar area depicting the logging pioneers and plenty of late '70s design features.

Some of the main features of the house include:
- spacious garden with plenty of shade and sun around the 12.5m pool, BBQ and fire pit
- brand new 400 sq ft covered deck with hot tub and uninterrupted views of Mt Currie
- fully equipped kitchen with double oven and microwave, 5 point stovetop, dishwasher, coffee maker
- large living room with fireplace, smart tv, hammock, reading area, music corner and deck overlooking the mountains towards Pemberton meadows
- large playroom filled with a massive collection of colour coded lego, stacks of board games, toys, jigsaws, train set and more
- full air conditioning and central heating system
- upper ground floor has 3 large bedrooms each with en-suite bathroom
- lower ground floor has large guest room and family room, both sharing a bathroom
- lower ground floor has original stained glass bar and kitchenette with dining area
- large laundry room with extra large washing machine and dryer
- two driveways allow parking for 7 cars
- garage space for bikes, kayaks, canoes, ski gear etc

We have two very independent cats, The Fluffmonster and Bobby Feta, who would be here for your stay and require feeding daily.
