Charlottetown is an excellent example of a vibrant seaside capital city. It has historic charm, pride of place and many festive celebrations.
Perfect for young couples - 2 floors up - beautiful!! Bright with at large windows in every room. Deck with table and chairs and a rocker. There are beautiful theatre shows, dinner theatres and many outdoor events just down the block. Its a safe town and easy walk around in.
Large bedroom with a queen size bed and a small spare room but I don't feel it fair to my landlord if I allow more than 2 people with the occasional guest if previously arranged with me. Perfect for siblings travelling together, parent and older child, mother and daughter etc., sorry no but young feet as it is a flat with a nice couple downstairs used to a quiet old woman up here except when the grandchildren arrive and offer warnings.
This is my choice of downsizing, I wanted an apartment but was not ready for a modern building with other oldies like me but still no maintaining yards etc.
I wanted downtown, warts and all, that can mean noisy after a summer event as the event goers return to their hotels etc. It's so great to walk to shows, the festivites, the waterfront. This building was built in around 1871, the first apartment building ever built in Charlottetown, not a convert. It was built by an Italian architect, my husband was an Italian architect so I couldn't resist. There are 3 units and I am in the middle unit.
Charlottetown is a beautiful place - if you're searching for a hidden gem you've found it!
I really want to go to Dublin, it's a dream of mine and as we get older we need to be aware that if you really mean it, pack! Then I will just stay visiting beautiful bristish Columbia and maybe Australia again.
